More than 7,000 troops, along with drones, helicopters, and surveillance aircraft, are now deployed under national defense rules that do not require state approval. This move comes just hours after a federal judge ruled Trump exceeded his authority by deploying National Guard troops in Los Angeles without California’s consent.
