golden platitudes about his personality and good deeds, standing on her authority as someone who 'really' knows him.
If she weren't some self-styled christian who forgives his actions, I'd say she was honest. But she's not.

Wiles is not as in touch with the public at large as she is with her party. Best that can be said about Wiles is that she's an experienced campaign leader, and now a political pr person whose rationalized narrative about her boss includes outright denial about his ill intent and the upcoming midterms, which she's sure their party will win.
