This is a flat-out violation of privacy, Texas!

So educators no longer have the right to privacy simply because they live in Texas? BULLSHIT!

"by April of next year, every bookseller in the state is tasked with submitting to the Texas Education Agency a list of every book they’ve ever sold to a teacher, librarian or school that qualifies for a sexual rating and is in active use. The stores also are required to issue recalls for any sexually explicit books."

I'm not buying the media's take on the reason Fox News settled...

...the Dominion case. According to several media sites, NY Times, for one, Tucker Carlson's redacted comments went too far:

“A couple of weeks ago, I was watching video of people fighting on the street in Washington. A group of Trump guys surrounded an Antifa kid and started pounding the living shit out of him. It was three against one, at least. Jumping a guy like that is dishonorable obviously. It’s not how white men fight.

“Yet suddenly I found myself rooting for the mob against the man, hoping they’d hit him harder, kill him. I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it. Then somewhere deep in my brain, an alarm went off: this isn’t good for me. I’m becoming something I don’t want to be. The Antifa creep is a human being. Much as I despise what he says and does, much as I’m sure I’d hate him personally if I knew him, I shouldn’t gloat over his suffering. I should be bothered by it. I should remember that somewhere somebody probably loves this kid, and would be crushed if he was killed. If I don’t care about those things, if I reduce people to their politics, how am I better than he is?”

Now as disgusting as these comments are, I think they elevate Carlson from his usual attitude. At least in these comments, he is recognizing how disgusting he is; he is demonstrating enough self-reflection to realize that he is becoming something he knows is horrible and he is repulsed by it.

At best, these comments may show that Carlson was aware of the malice he delivered on air, yet continued to spew hate. Maybe that awareness could somehow be extrapolated as evidence he didn't care if he delivered false and malicious information about voting systems. But generally I think MSM's take that these comments caused Fox to settle is naive. I suspect there is something in those redacted comments that is far more disgusting than anything we've seen so far.

I'm trying to be open-minded, but...

…what are all these Republicans doing on Chris Hays’ show? Michael Steele is hosting and interviewing Mona Charon and Jennifer Rubin. Too many Rs in the same place make me very nervous, especially when they are in Democrat-friendly territory.

I can't help it...I just can't trust the polls this time around.

I've read some of the questions presented to voters and the responses just seem bogus. I just read one poll where a woman responded saying the Democrats have no morals. I can't help but wonder who pollsters are catching in their nets. Most folks I talk to are outraged at Republicans, including Republicans. I live in one of the reddest districts in Texas and I can honestly say I've seen many more Beto signs than Abbott signs. I just cannot believe the polls.

I wonder if the feds have considered...

...that at least some of the documents seized may have been at Maga-loggo well before Trump left office. Maybe that's where he exchanged info/favors with global power brokers.

So in states with no exceptions for rape...

...a married woman could be raped and impregnated by someone not her spouse and be forced to give birth to another man's baby. Wonder how that's gonna go over? And think about all the women, especially military spouses who've been raped. I personally know two of them, one was gang raped. Both were raped by men not their spouse. So if they were impregnated in one of these states (providing the military stops providing abortion care), our members of the military will be forced to raise another man's child. Gee what that must do to a male ego, I mean...given than folks in these states don't give a damn about the female victims of these crimes.

Precedent? Who gives a crap about precedent?

True to their hypocritical values, Republicans are up in arms that the draft opinion to destroy Roe was leaked. They're outraged at such a breach of confidentiality and precedence the court has always depended on.

Now ain't that a freakin' hoot? Ain't that rich? When clearly they don't give one shit about precedence. But true to their character, they're just not thinking this one through. If they can toss nearly 50 years of settled law into the bin, why should the 230+ years of any of the Court's rulings matter to anyone? Why should anyone care one way or the other about the Court's rulings? Why don't we just embrace anarchy? Is that one of the purposes of such a ruling? Isn't undermining of the Court's authority in this way just another form of sedition? Another deadly blow to our democracy? Maybe that's what the Republicans wanted all along. It would make sense given their loyalty to Trump and Putin.
