(10,422 posts)I have my password saved in Chrome but if I try to log in anywhere else, I can't. I have even tried to reset my password and haven't been able to. It's pretty disappointing. I love DU and knew that something was amiss when it got hacked during election day in 2016.

(26,131 posts)I did that with Skinner after the 2016 attack, because like you, I couldn't remember my password.

(10,422 posts)Maybe I'll try again before next week. I don't want to get locked out on election night.

(23,337 posts)What a nightmare...between the hack and the election results it felt like the end of the world...it really did. I believe we will have a better outcome this time with the election and our beloved DU.

the amount of work i got done the next day was very little, i was so distraught. i went to Starbucks and spontaneously began to cry and apologized to all the young people within earshot for what my generation did to them. they gave me my lattes for free lol
what a nightmare.

(25,476 posts)It relates to prior data leaks, not current ones. It means that your username and password combination were used in a data leak on some website at some point. It does not mean that your current login is compromised.
It would be a good idea to change your password, however.
It was recently added to mobile versions of Chrome. More info:

(21,966 posts)As pointed out upthread, this Chrome feature tells you if a particular username/email/password combination you are using was involved in a data breach anywhere on the Internet. From the link above:
Firstly, it does not matter on which website you see this new warning. The new message is a warning about the username/email and password combination that you just entered. That combination has been compromised in a breach of a website/app. What that actually means is you need to change your password on all websites/apps where you are using the same username/email and password combination.
DUs database was not breached during the 2016 hack.
But yes as advised you should change your password.
