(30,736 posts)as long as he is on the run.
I hope some of them help him hide for a while, and are charged for that crime.
They will find him. None of them are overly bright.

(11,098 posts)Judge's don't take kindly to being lied to by attorneys. If the lawyers are lying to the court, I would expect the Judge to make a referral to the bar disciplinary agency.
EDIT: It may be these lawyers ain't real bright.

(14,856 posts)If that's true, why should the judge believe anything they say now?
TomSlick
(11,098 posts)I would expect the Judge to forbid the lawyers from saying anything, whether in writing or in court. I would then expect the Bar disciplinary agency to forbid the lawyers from ever saying anything in any court ever again.

(11,098 posts)Lawyers are officers of the Court. There is a specific rule of professional conduct that requires lawyers to be truthful in dealings with the Court.
Judges take a dim view of being lied to by lawyers.

(7,715 posts)Are you able to change it? I scrolled through this link and saw some of the other articles. Without a doubt, it is one of the worst publications I've seen cited on DU.
This article is awful.

(2,475 posts)But since people have opted to alert on me twice in recent times, to ease people's minds I have changed it to something the general populace hopefully finds more palatable.

(7,715 posts)But thank you. I'm not the DU police, but just have been burned a couple of times myself.
I cited something from Vox during the summer and got absolutely flamed for it, including getting the post banned. It turned out the article was actually true, so I got the post reinstated. But learned my lesson. I've been tagged by others for citing the NY Post or the Daily Mail.
Folks here are very fair-minded, but I've learned to be very careful on what I cite. Even when referring to something on Fox News etc, I won't actually give the link but just summarize.

(14,742 posts)First, as others have pointed out, his lawyers claim he is in hiding for his safety and offered the location to the court.
Secondly, the prosecutors (as much as we would like) did NOT request his arrest. They requested an increase in his bail by $200k.
So just about ever part of that tweet is easily proven false.
Please stop posting garbage.
bigtree
(85,996 posts)...and he made up this excuse with his attorney after prosecutors found out and threatened him.
He belongs in jail.
getagrip_already
(14,742 posts)I don't get why the prosecutor didn't ask for bail to be revoked, rather than just increased, but thats where we are.
