It was tweeted on January 14, and he was responding to this tweet from Jon Cooper:

He did love boats...and he never lost his sense of humor.
And yes, I've posted more serious messages about his passing, which hit me hard. See https://democraticunderground.com/100217574192 and https://democraticunderground.com/100217574392 .
But he never stopped commenting on politics. As I was reminded by his Twitter feed.
One of his tweets yesterday applauded Greta Thunberg:

and another nailed Boebert, Gaetz and Greene, captioning a photo of them tweeted by Jon Cooper:

And he balanced that concern about politics, as always, with music.

And he was amusingly skeptical of some religious people's views about heaven and who's excluded:

He left us too soon. And he will always be missed.

(62,159 posts)other two threads in this OP - because my first thought when I heard of his death was how particularly sad this was when just a couple of months ago he was talking about another ten years of songwriting he believed he would have. So I searched for that interview and posted it at https://democraticunderground.com/100217574192 , commenting on the way he balanced political concerns and music. Then I remembered the song he'd written after his mother's death, and posted that at https://www.democraticunderground.com/100217574392 .
And then, as I was starting to scan Twitter for other musicians' tweets about him - as I'd done after Jeff Beck died, posting those in a few threads in Music Appreciation - I discovered Croz had been tweeting up to the day before yesterday.
And what he was tweeting was that same perfect balance of political concerns and love of music.
Which I knew DUers could identify with.
So I felt I had to post this, even if people will be remembering him, for many more years, for his amazing music, not his tweets.
