8. It was almost 70 degrees here today.

I was born and raised near Houston. Lived in Austin for 35 years.
After 2016, I figured I had been in Texas long enough lol.

My father was career Army, and Fort Lewis, Washington was his last duty station before he retired. We loved it here so much, we stayed.

Now I’m a die-hard Washingtonian…

Even when I was a kid, SA was, like, the ninth-largest city in the country. But it had a small town feel.

Last time I was there, in 2007, all I remember is the freeways. It was like LA without the beaches, or Miami without the palm trees. It’s not the city I grew up in…
