kentuck's JournalWho or what saved democracy in America?
If we break it down to the least common denominator, in my opinion, it was the 81 million individual voters that voted for Joe Biden.
That was about 14 million more than had voted in the previous election. That is a lot!
Considering that Trump received about 11 million more votes than in 2016, it was miraculous that the Democrats were able to get that many people to vote.
If Trump had won the popular vote, he would probably have won the Electoral College easily? They could claim that fascism won fair and square.
It is unimaginable what four more years of Trumpism would have done to our country and our people.
I nominate the 81 million voters who chose to vote, as the saviours of our democracy.
I'm Going Home
Everything Trump has said since McConnell's comments is directed toward the US Senate.
Everything he has done is to attempt to escape conviction and maintain political viability. It is all fake.
It is a fraud.
Perhaps they will be fooled by the con-job?
They should forget everything that has happened since January 6th and before. They should only remember all his "great" accomplishments and how presidential he has been since he betrayed our country.
He understands human nature and uses people as if they were the next tissue in the box...
Let us hope that the Republicans in the Senate understand him.

Trump supporters are living in Plato's cave.
The huge fire creates shadows on the walls.
A huge eagle flies by outside the cave and all they can see is the fleeting shadow.
Their reality is defined by the shadows they see. Because they do not see the real world, it is easy to create paranoia and conspiracies in their minds.
This is the world in which they live.
It is an alternate reality. It is real to them.
Once they leave the cave and enter the "real" world, they will be able to see the world as it really is.
A question about the 74 million that voted for Donald Trump?
How many voted for him out of loyalty to Donald Trump and how many voted for him out of loyalty to the Republican Party?
I do not believe the entire 74 million voted for Trump out of loyalty to him or what he stood for.
Republicans are strange creatures.
They tend to believe that "any" Republican is better than the liberal, socialist Democrat that might be running. That is ingrained within them.
It is my opinion that more than 50% of Republicans voted for Trump because he wasn't a Democrat. His base is not the entire Republican Party, contrary to what he may think?
My estimated guess would be that somewhere between 25-50% of Republicans are "true" Trump supporters. If the Republican Party was to lose those voters, they could very possibly make them up with registered "Independent" voters. It would not be the end of the world or the end of the Republican Party, in my opinion.
Trump, and his threats of starting his own Party, should not panic Republicans. They do not need him as much as he thinks they do.
Hard Road To Travel
The world will celebrate tomorrow...
....after Joe Biden takes the oath of office.
Trump was a threat to the world and they feel lucky that the voters of America were able to rid themselves of the tyrant in a democratic election.
Which almost didn't happen.
It is not just Americans that will be celebrating.
What happens to the Trump International Hotel if Trump is convicted?
Does he lose his lease contract with the GSA?
I always wondered how he managed to swing that deal unless he had inside connections?
There were "leaders" in the mob...
...and there were followers.
They are all guilty but the "leaders" seemed to be more bent on violence and destruction. You could hear them on the videos, shouting out orders to the others.
These were the Proudboys, the QAnon, and the 3Percenters. These included ex-military and ex-cops.
In my opinion, many of the MAGA crowd were followers. That doesn't make them innocent.
But, I do believe we should make that distinction.
Trump had a special appeal to the dregs of society. He liked the "tough" guys, as he once stated. He identified with those with criminal minds. Just look at all his friends he pardoned.
So, he finally got the crowd that he had cultivated for four years.
Now he disowns them.
