Should Trump or his Doctor be permitted to lie about whether he took a coronavirus test?

Do the people have a right to know whether or not the President of the United States is actively spreading the disease about every single day?

Should the Doctor be asked publicly if he gave the test to Trump? What did he mean when he said he "received confirmation" that the test was "negative"? Does he know for a fact that the test was negative or did someone tell him?

This is not a lie that the people should accept. It is too important to not know for sure.

Are people more afraid of Donald Trump's incompetence or the coronavirus?

I do think people are very fearful of the lack of leadership coming from this White House.

It is not only the lack of leadership. It is the fear they will do something to make it even worse than it already is. For example, the speech the other night from the Oval Office.

The lies and the incompetence are a deadly combination. People's fears are exaggerated because no one is in charge.

Even the markets react to the incompetence. They don't buy bullshit. Unfortunately, that is the commodity that Donald Trump specializes in.

People ask, are matters as bad as they seem? Or is it that the captain of the ship doesn't know where in the hell he is going? Perhaps it is both?

How long can the virus be latent in the body before there are any symptoms?

I have read that many folks are self-quarantining after contact with a known positive carrier.

But, I have also read that the virus may be latent for 14 days or longer?

How many people are walking around perfectly normal at this moment, not realizing they are carrying the virus and it is just a matter of time before the virus is awakened?

These are scary times.

When does the incompetence cross into criminality?

Did they hold the Captain of the Titanic responsible for hitting the iceberg?

When people begin to die because of incompetence, should those making decisions be held accountable?

Is it criminal if people die from gross negligence?

After hosting a gathering with guests later found to be infected with the coronavirus, President Trump refrained from getting tested, let alone from self-quarantine, even as administration officials urged Americans to adopt stern new precautions.

Mr. Trump finally underwent testing for the virus on Saturday morning and was reported to be negative on Saturday evening. Still, the episode has startled and disconcerted medical experts, who worry that it sets a poor example for Americans and suggests that the president still does not fully understand the risks the country faces.

Indeed, Mr. Trump should be tested regularly even without symptoms, given his frequent appearances at campaign rallies and his interactions with top leaders who are instrumental in running the country, said Arthur Caplan, a bioethicist at N.Y.U. Langone in New York. The test results should be made public, he said.

“It is the height of irresponsible leadership to continue to risk catching or spreading Covid-19 or other infectious diseases,” said Dr. Caplan, referring to the illness caused by the coronavirus.

...will be like telling the children there is no Santa Claus.

He is invincible. It's not possible for him to catch a disease that he called a "hoax".

Will this crisis change the way medical care is delivered in this country?

It has already exposed many flaws in our system. There are not enough doctors, nurses, hospital rooms, or ventilators to handle a pandemic like we may encounter in the next few weeks.

How will make sure that all Americans have access to coverage? What reforms will need to be made with the insurance companies in this country?

Will the people be more open to a system like MFA once we get thru this experience?

The "Achilles heel" of the American medical system has been exposed.

If a question is asked that he does not like or appreciate, he attacks the questioner. He calls it a "nasty" question,

The purpose is to create a fear in the reporters to not be humiliated in front of their fellow reporters and to make them hesitant to ask such questions again. This permits him to lie and to promote his propaganda without question.

That is why it is vitally important that he be questioned on his lies at this time.

Where do you anticipate we will be two weeks from now?

In regards to the level of infection of the corona virus?

Will the numbers be declining and mostly contained?

Or will the numbers be growing out of control?

Is the truth of the matter that no one knows? Much will depend on the degree of testing. If there are not sufficient tests, we cannot know the true seriousness of the crisis.
