Ex-Rep, David Jolly (R-FL) just made an excellent point on the Nicolle Wallace program..

The Congress does not need Don McGahn or Robert Mueller to testify at this time. They have the Mueller Report. They have already testified under oath! Democrats do not have to have them re-affirm their oaths.

They could go straight into hearings, and use McGahn and other witnesses testimony to Mueller as given under oath when questioned by Robert Mueller.

Why not have a hearing on the Mueller Report?

Now...

Why is the Trump White House so afraid of the truth?

No, they don't want Don McGahn to testify.

No, they don't want Bob Mueller to testify.

No, they will go to Court to prevent anyone knowing what is in Mr Trump's tax returns.

No, they will not make their finances available to anyone.

What are they hiding?

Is it possible that the truth would be a threat to our national security?

How much longer should our Congress continue to operate on blind faith?

It is a national security issue.

How much longer can they continue to hide the truth from Congress and the American people?

We have the right to know who the president is doing business with. It is irresponsible to say that it doesn't matter or that it is none of our business.

Jimmy Carter had to turn over his family peanut business when he became President.

What has Donald Trump turned over?

He is still doing business like it was 2015, only now, his money is easier to make.

He has wiped his ass on the Constitution, especially the emolument clause. He and the Republicans act as if it doesn't apply to him? What kind of stupid shit is that?

He rents out his hotel rooms, just down the street, to the Saudis and other foreign partners of his. He pretends that it doesn't matter. The Republicans grovel along with him.

But if Jimmy Carter, and other presidents, had to do away with their businesses, how is Donald Trump any better? He walks like a duck but acts like a scofflaw.

This alone is enough to impeach him but politics somehow stands in the way.

I do not doubt but that impeachment would create even more division. That puts the Democrats in a very tough position. But, they must find someway to get to the truth. They must have access to documents to assure our national security is protected. They must be able to speak to witnesses that can validate certain facts.

If impeachment is the only option left, then they should consider using it. Do what they know is right and let the chips fall where they may. Victory is not assured either way.

Where Joe Biden has the right message?

When he talks about unifying the country.

Most people, Democrats and Republicans, understand that Donald Trump is a divider. That is a negative that he carries. Division with every group or class, depending on which support him and which oppose him. He has managed to divide the nation strongly along Party lines.

In my opinion, Joe Biden is on the right track when talking about uniting America. But, how difficult is it going to be to unite this country?

How different will we be after the next election?

I wonder.

Saw this quote by a Trumpster on Facebook. The "Deep State" is about to be uncovered.

The endorsement everyone has been waiting on...

Mine!

Like most folks on DU, I have been undecided about which candidate might be best for the Democratic Party in 2020.

Also, like most folks on DU, I will support the eventual nominee, whomever, he/she might be.

After much deliberation, I have decided to support Elizabeth Warrren.

Why?

Because she has shown courage and conviction above and beyond all the others, in my opinion.

Although Joe Biden has come out and filled the vacuum by talking about Donald Trump, it was Elizabeth Warren that came out and said that he should be impeached. That is a position that I strongly agree with.

Others such as Kamala, Mayor Pete, Beto, et al, have made strong showings. But for knowledge of the issues, none are as bright as Elizabeth Warren, in my opinion. If for some reason she is not the nominee, I believe she should hold a Cabinet position in the next Administration. I do not think VP would be her best position, but rather, Secretary of the Treasury. She knows economic issues and she knows banking issues. She would tackle them head on, in my opinion. Kamala Harris would be the best VP candidate, in my opinion. She will get out the votes.

The last time around, I was an early supporter for Bernie Sanders. In my opinion, he brought a lot of new voters into the Democratic Party. However, some of those supporters deserted the Democrats for Donald Trump in the general election. Perhaps they bought into the Russian propaganda that Bernie was "ripped off" in some manner by the Clinton campaign? Whatever, that is water under the bridge. I do know that Bernie lost by a substantial margin to Hillary in the popular vote and did very well in the caucus states, which helped him tremendously in making it a competitive race.

Although I am not usually in favor of name-calling, a la Donald Trump, I do think we should make two or three exceptions for Elizabeth Warren if she is the nominee. There is no doubt but that Trump will try to get laughs by ridiculing Elizabeth as "Pocahontas". I happen to think that "Broke-ahontas" is the perfect response when that happens. And remind people that the "great businessman" lost over a billion dollars over a ten-year period and still refuses to show his tax returns.

Also, I think "Putin's Puppet" is another nickname that captures the essence of the criminal now in the White House. I do not think these nicknames should be repeated over and over, as is the general consensus, but should be used in a timely and appropriate manner. In my opinion, it would be more effective.

In the end, Elizabeth's intelligence and courage have swayed me to her side. I think she could be the first woman President.
