"effectively no obstruction"??

Donald Trump used that phrase a couple of times in his propaganda spew this morning on the driveway of the White House. What did he mean by "effectively"?

It appears that he is trying to head off the testimony of Mueller this coming week? If the Democrats attempt to say there was obstruction, Trump wants to have a counter argument ready. All he needs to convince are his supporters.

But, the truth of the matter is that, "effectively", there were several incidents of obstruction and any effort to deny that is a bald-faced lie.

They have not yet figured out a way to handle what they expect Mueller to say? The best they can come up with is, "effectively, no obstruction".

That is not a frigging news conference!

He comes out and the media bow down (literally) before him behind a rope line and he says whatever he wants to say and if he answers any questions, it is the ones he wants to talk about. He doesn't answer anything that he doesn't want to talk about. It is his style of spewing out his propaganda.

It is a farce!

Trump was going to challenge the Supreme Court.

He did not back down on his plan to manipulate the census because of the Supreme Court. He backed out of his plan because 11 Justice Dept attorneys challenged him. He was ready to get other attorneys to present the case before the Court again but the Court said that was not permitted. As if their decision is not final and he is going to appeal the Supreme Court decision? He is still looking for a way to defy them and is being assisted by his new attorney, William Barr.

We should not be tricked into thinking that he backed down from the Supreme Court. His own lawyers in his Justice Dept threw a monkey wrench into his plans.

Now, he will have to get him some new lawyers that will kowtow to his wishes...

There was an old love song from the 70's that lamented that "you'll never ever going to know me".

If people do not know the man in the White House by now, it is a waste of time trying to further educate them. He has shown the world who he is. If that is still someone they can vote for, there is no use to waste any more energy on them. Birds of a feather flock together. We must accept that.

Instead, we should re-direct our energies to getting people, that do not believe like him, to the voting booths. If people are still willing to vote for a liar, a deceiver, a likely rapist and child molester, a criminal in most aspects of his life, a moral failure, then they cannot be saved. They are of like character.

They will never admit to any character flaws in their president, although they are in full view every single day. Study them. Stay away from them. They are bad for your health and well-being. But, don't waste your time on trying to change them or trying to educate them. If they have not changed by now, they are never going to change.

How much damage has Donald Trump done to America ??

When this regime has finally departed (We hope soon), will we be able to look back and quantify the damage?

Does a good economy over-shadow all the problems our country is facing? What happens if there is a recession?

How much damage has been done to our relationships with our allies? Very few have any respect for our leaders and are very skeptical that America will ever return to its former self.

How much damage has been done to the soul of America? Outsiders see a country that has surrendered it principles and its leadership to others. They see a country that acts like a third-world country, with constant disregard for a free press and the rule of law. They see an outlaw country, coddling up to dictators like Kim in North Korea and Putin in Russia. They see a country holding children as prisoners on our southern border. They see fears and paranoia whipped up by a demagogic dictator-wanna-be.

How much damage has been done to our institutions and our Constitution? The rule of law is breaking down as we speak and the elected representatives do nothing but talk. They put their broken tooth under their pillows and wait for the tooth fairy. The next election will take care of everything, they tell themselves.

How much damage has been done to the psyche of our people? How do we repair the division and the hatred that has been cultivated by Donald Trump and his followers? Where do we go to get back what we have lost?

Trump uses every weapon in his arsenal....and more.

He accepts no opinions or court decisions without a challenge. He is very adept at manipulating the judicial system. He has done it for decades.

If Congress doesn't appropriate money for a wall, then he will just get it somewhere else. He does not follow the rules or the laws. Those are for other people.

On top of it all, he is not ashamed to lie and deceive the people. He knows no shame. He creates the narrative and uses distractions and diversions to change the topic of conversation.

Democrats have been surprised by his lawlessness and recklessness. Trump's lies tend to keep them on the defensive most of the time. They subpoena people to appear before the Congress and the White House ignores them. They get nothing.

Democrats have been playing by the rules in the old Rulebook, when officials, even the President, respected the rule of law and the order within the institutions. Trump has crapped all over that.

They say, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do". For the Democrats to succeed, it is my opinion that they need to change their tactics. They need to be more offensive with their strategy. They need to use all the weapons in their arsenal. They have them but they have refused to use them. They are not fighting an opponent that respects them.

First of all, they need to make a decision about impeachment. The pressure will be great after the testimony of Robert Mueller next Wednesday. That is the strongest weapon in their arsenal. If they refuse to use it, they are surrendering their position to the megalomaniac in the White House, in hopes that the people will put them in power in the next election.

Barr is in a bind.

First of all, he never read the Mueller Report. He had no need to. He was going to clear Donald Trump.

After Mueller came out and gave his 9-minute summation of his report, and said that he did not expect to say anything else about it, Barr believed that was the end of it. It wasn't.

Mueller received a subpoena from the US Congress, and unlike most in the Trump Administration, he felt he must follow the law and respond to the subpoena.

That must have been a moment of panic for Barr and Trump. Trump immediately began to attack Mueller and his witch-hunt. Obviously, he did not think Mr Mueller was going to fully "exonerate" him, as he told the American people.

Barr made a public appearance yesterday and said that if Mueller did not wish to go before the Congress, the DOJ would assist him with that. Why didn't he just call Mueller and make that offer? It appears that they are not speaking?

So Barr wants to talk to Mueller but the lines are closed?

And next Wednesday, Robert Mueller could contradict everything Bill Barr has told the American people about the Mueller Report.

What would you do if you were in Barr's shoes?

How do they get away with it??

Why are they not held accountable?

Why does the law not apply to "these folks" the same way it applies to you and me and most of the people in the world?

How are they able to challenge all the institutions of government, including the courts and the very idea of justice, and suffer no consequences?

How are they able to escape scrutiny around the world?

Why are they able to simply ignore laws that they don't like?

How are they able to commit grotesque crimes and laugh in our faces?

It seems that the laws and the courts were not created for these people.

They are different from you and I.

Mueller is preparing for his testimony - one week from today.

And now, they want Mr Mueller to know that if he doesn't wish to testify before the Congress, then the DOJ is willing to help him out. After all, what more can he tell them?

AG Barr said the Democrats only want to indulge in a "public spectacle". He felt so strongly about it that he decided to go before the cameras to try and get the message to Mr Mueller. He must not be returning their calls?

The worst thing that could happen is if Mr Mueller contradicted Barr and Trump in their boasts of "no collusion" and "no obstruction". That would be a little problem for the falsifiers and fabricators.

It is very important that Mr Mueller not testify before the Congress. They would like him to know that. Mr Mueller wouldn't dare to say the report said something different from what Mr Barr and Mr Trump told America that it said, would he?
