It seems that Bill Barr is the only person that can go on FOX News and tell it to them straight.
He is the only one they will listen to, other than Donald Trump himself.
His new role seems to be to break the news to the cult that laws were broken. There is enough evidence to indict. It was wrong to steal top secret documents and take them to your country club. One might think they could have figured that out on their own, but that does not appear to be the case?
Now, Bill Barr has become the de-program master for the cult. He has to tell them the truth and hope that they are not so far down the rabbit hole that they cannot return.
It is a necessary role and one that needs to be done. It is strange that Bill Barr is the person delivering the message.

If the DOJ chooses the Special Master over the appeals process?
Perhaps they could have a questionnaire for all the candidates? Although, with the secrecy requirements, the list is probably very short.
The tough part of the decision is that even if the case is appealed to the Supreme
Court, who knows how the SC will rule? They are as big a part of the cult as is the Judge in Florida. It is a gamble to appeal the decision, for that reason alone.
Even though the Special Master is considered illegal by many, in this instance, the DOJ may be forced to go along. If so, maybe they can get some commitments from the Special Master before they agree to him/her? There has to be respect for the authority of the Executive Branch to do their job and respect for the law, in regards to the theft of national secrets.
Neil Katyal has stated that they may move the case to DC? IF they do that, is there still not the gamble that it will go to the Supreme Court?
What is the primary reason Trump has not been subpoenaed?
Is it because they know he would lie and try to spin it to his advantage?
Or they expect he would take the Fifth and refuse to tell them anything?
Or maybe they are trying to uncover all the people that assisted him in the theft of America's crown jewels of national secrets?
Or maybe they have talked to him already?
It is very unlikely that the J6 Committee would want to interfere with the DOJ investigation in any way. It would be surprising to see a subpoena from them, in my opinion.
However, it just seems to the common folks that he should be subpoenaed and grilled about the stolen documents. If he did not cooperate, he should be indicted immediately. No deals. No options. No choices.
How bad is it, really?
If an immoral, unscrupulous, scofflaw absconds with many of the nation's top secrets and hides them in his club for 18 months?
Does it make it any less bad if the criminal is the former president?
It probably makes it worse.
What are the chances that he sold or traded those secrets to another country, most likely an adversary or enemy?
What are the odds that he will ever be held accountable?
After all, when he committed crimes in the past, the Republicans refused to impeach or to convict him for his criminal acts.
Why should they care now if he commits espionage and puts our national security at grave risk?
** President Biden should order the DOJ to not turn over any of the stolen documents **
He is the President and he is the only one with executive privilege.
He should order the AG and the DOJ not to turn over any of the documents that were seized in Mar-a-Lago, to Donald Trump or any Trump judge.
They are acting illegally and it is his duty to see that all laws are faithfully executed.
It is Joe Biden's call. It is not the call of a Judge or a "Special Master". He is the only one with executive privilege.
President Biden should declare that the documents belong to the National Archives and the US Government. They do not belong to Donald Trump or any Judge, not even the Supreme Court.
When they receive a legal request, they will obey it. This is not legal.
He should issue his order immediately.
Dangerous times call for courageous decisions.
Yeah, in my opinion, Trump sold our secrets.
And he had help. He does nothing alone.
In my opinion, he did trade on America's secrets. Whether it was the Saudis or the Russians or someone else, he has made a bunch of money. Just my opinion.
It is no trivial matter. The threat continues and our justice system does not seem capable of recognizing the threat, let alone do anything about it.
It is much more serious than an over-due library book or a "storage" problem.
We have a traitor in our midst.
How long will it take to appeal the stolen documents case to the Supreme Court?
It appears that may be where it is headed.
The "Special Master" decision is so bad, it is difficult to see how they come up with a competent person to take the position that both sides can agree upon.
Is there any way the DOJ can accept a "Special Master" in a criminal investigation such as this? It serves no purpose except to give the former president the delay he desperately wants and needs.
If the decision is appealed, how long would it take to make it to the Supreme Court? And what might they decide once it gets there? There is no guarantee that they would not do something as crazy as the Trump judge Florida.
Perhaps it should be put on the back burner a while, and let it simmer until it is ready...?
Espionage is a very hot issue at this time. The passions are high. There is talk of civil wars. Violence is on the rise.
Maybe, in a few weeks, or several months, it will be ready to pour into the saucer, so everyone can see?
But, there is other work to do.
Someone invited a gang of violent people to come to Washington on January 6th, the day the electoral votes are counted from each state. They were incited to an insurrection and they marched on the Capitol. They threatened the lives of elected Representatives and even the Vice President. They were violent and destructive. They were a mob.
They were not lawful and they were not patriotic. They were quite the opposite.
The corrupt politicians in the White House, at that time, believed they could come up with a scam to steal an election from the America people. They attempted to extort different state officials by getting them to disqualify some of the votes, so their guy could stay in the White House.
They conspired. In the Willard Hotel, at the White House, at the not-yet-known scandal with the Trump International Hotel. (A little shady about how he came across that building, thru the assistance of someone at GSA, or one of those government organizations?)
There is still work to do for Merrick Garland and the DOJ.
There are still crimes to investigate.
So the espionage case can sit on the back burner for as long as they like. The DOJ still has work to do.
Despite the Special Master, the DOJ can still pursue an obstruction charge against Trump.
Because it is not dependent on the presence of the documents.
When Trump's lawyers told the FBI that there were no more classified documents at MAL and signed an affidavit stating that was the case, but there were still classified documents there and they would not let the FBI see them, that was obstruction of justice. If Trump told them to say that, then he is also someone that obstructed justice.
The DOJ can still bring that charge, if they so desire. The Special Master does not have any bearing on obstruction.
