A BEEE-YOOO-TEEE-FULL sunny Southern California day! GREAT stuff on TV, watching the Inaugural parade, watching Joe Biden have himself a party with the crowd, all the way down the street, people yelling and cheering, got a FANTASTIC phone call from the boys - their drummer told me all kinds of great news from their tour, everybody's happy, dog just made a good poo, kitties all peacefully snoozing, my best friend's in town, my boy's band is kickin' ass, my President and First Lady are being celebrated all day, tons of happy people here and posting on Facebook, and I'm a happy gal!

Did you catch a glimpse of him on the Inaugural Platform, a few rows back, looking glum and serious as could be? And boner, too, looking like he was working hard not to cry.

I noticed the wrongneys were NOT there. Wonder why? Their car elevator more important, I suppose? I remember when Al Gore, and then John Kerry, too, were there after it was taken from them. They were man enough to show up. What's with Mr. and Mrs. Money-Weasels? Sore Losermen?

Instead, we get louie gohmert. Oh for Pete's Sake....

Bad enough that sometimes our view is blighted by a shot of boner or yertle or that pompous ass scalia with his clown hat. (Gee, attention-hog much?)

I was hoping the wrongneys would be there just for the sake of being able to savor the contrast, and to see them watch their "entitlement," and their "turn, now," be taken by the man whose turn it rightfully is.

My husband and I got choked up when seeing James Taylor with his acoustic guitar, playing "America the Beautiful." Never thought we'd see THAT day (another way the two of us felt "represented" up there on that platform)! I texted that to our son, who's out on tour - about to play Denver tonight.

As a retired newsperson, that offended me HUGELY!!! That unbelievably, profoundly historic soundbite - the first black President taking his Oath of Office, and IDIOT there fucks up the soundbite. For all time. Notice how the coverage from then on had to bail out, quickly, after the "I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear"? They couldn't go on with it after that. Because IDIOT just totally fucked up the soundbite. Denied all of posterity that beautiful and marvelous and majestic and ground-breaking and history-making oath-taking. And what's so galling is that it wasn't as though he didn't have time to practice, and it wasn't as though he didn't know THIS part of his duty as Chief Justice was coming in about two months. It wasn't like he had no forewarning or anything...

Yeah, it's good to feel like you're not alone. It was good to discover DU and realize that it was good to feel like I wasn't alone! And I was amazed at how many people shared my view. Comfort in a storm. This place was quite literally an oasis for me. A lifeboat. A well-stocked, well-built bomb shelter. It absolutely helped get me through those awful awful awful years!

It takes courage to do that - something we obviously do NOT see anywhere around peter king and all his little friends. We can always hope that they see the light. I doubt most of them will. But then again, were we ever sure we'd reach the point where we'd have a black President in our lifetimes - much less a black President being sworn in a SECOND time? One can always hope. Maybe it has to be like amputation or root canal or something. Maybe with guys like him, it has to hurt so damn bad that you're finally forced to do, in extreme, what you should have done a long time ago when the remedy wasn't as drastic.

Did he NOT realize what kind of shit would rain down as the direct result of his party's reckless, sinful, selfish, short-sighted, mean-spirited sucks-to-be-you, IGMFU agenda? (IGMFU stands for "I Got Mine, F-U." Reap what you sow, you selfish un-Christian asshole. This is what YOU and all your little ayn randian pals hath wrought. THIS is what results. THIS is what you get. The sad part is - HIS constituents get to take it in the shorts for what he and his ayn randian cohorts "believe" so fervently. They get to eat a full banquet of "you're on your own." How does it taste, peter king?

Glad you're here. Go figure. It does make one wonder - WHY do they stay in, since so much of what their party does is anathema to what they discover that they REALLY want and need when the chips are down.

WHY do you stay, peter? You've seen what's in it for you. WHY do you stay, chris christie? WHY do you stay, jon huntsman? WHY??? Your party doesn't make sense anymore. It's about selfish and stingey and mean-spirited and willfully ignorant bullies and cheapskates. And it's THOROUGHLY and HORRIFYINGLY un-Christian! Would true Christians trying to follow the teachings of Christ turn their backs on you Hurricane Sandy victims, because they'd rather look at the price tags than at the human suffering and need? They'd rather make a "stand," based on the most sinfully selfish and myopic agenda that's ever been conceived? And you still feel you need to belong there? And that you have a home there?

ICK! Well, then, if so (and it certainly seems so), then maybe you deserve what you get. Unfortunately, your constituents who've lost everything in the storm do not. Too bad the impact of that heartless shit can't be confined to just you. They have to live with, and cope with, the results of YOUR PARTY'S SELFISH ASSHOLE-ISM. Its Asshole Agenda.
