About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

Brava! Kick for MORE visibility.

Don't apologize for this post. It is magnificent in its tragedy and horror and outrage.

We need to hear MORE of this. Everything IS so sanitized. You are so spot-on about that! NOBODY gets it. Some of us do get it, though, thanks in part for testimonials like yours and also probably to just good ol' fashioned horse sense about what's basically right and basically wrong. About being rational instead of paranoid.

Remember Crosby Stills Nash & Young's singing about "Find the Cost of Freedom"? Back during the Vietnam War era (1971).

Makes me think back to Kent State. "Four Dead in Ohio" (another opus by CSN&Y) - during an on-campus anti-war rally that went horribly wrong. That shook a lot of people awake, back then. Those of us who were trying to avoid the draft or fighting against it or trying to stop the war - we suddenly realized that we didn't have to GO to war to see real-life battle carnage. It was right there in front of us, at the wrong end of the National Guard. Four kids, shot and killed. And shit - with the death toll in any of these latter-day domestic massacres, it's horrifying and soul-searing to think that we got off easy back then, by comparison.

"Women and children first!" That cliche takes on a whole new meaning these days!

AND taking that numerical advantage to the polling places - EVERY TIME.

Don't forget to vote! Muscle needs to be exercised regularly in order to remain fit. Any fitness expert, pro or amateur, will vouch for that.

Well you can probably guess Romney would like

to try again. His wife probably still thinks it’s their turn.

Now, Gavin is another story. I’we met him and heard him speak. He’s pretty terrific!

Good questions. I too want to see tax returns.

Whose do you think we’ll see first? Bernie’s or trump’s?

Only possible benefit to that kind of item would be to let one know which areas to AVOID.

And that means all the businesses, restaurants, and other commercial entities that would NOT get one's business. Might actually be furthering future boycotts.

Starve the beast.

And the best part of all - many of them are close to voting age.

They're not likely to give an NRA whore the benefit of the doubt.

I'm hoping some of these remarkable young people not only VOTE

as soon as they're old enough, but maybe run for office some day. And sooner than later.

They may yet be our salvation, at least on this issue.
