Same here! WOW! Police work.

WOW!

Thank you to all our police and first responders. They run into burning buildings and face down the bad guys - so you don't have to.

Thanks. That was disgraceful, and utterly UNAMERICAN.

Kick 'em when they're down, eh, hot stuff? Wow, does THAT make you look good.

NOT!!!!!!

Here's my email:

That was the most disgraceful, reprehensible, heartless, mean-spirited, cowardly, ill-informed, UN-Christian, and downright UN-American thing to say or tweet or even think - about your fellow countrymen in crisis. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!! And shame on whoever brought you up to post horrible things like that! As a mom, I know it always traces back to the parents and the upbringing.

I feel dreadfully sorry for the unfortunate people of Arkansas. You make them ALL look bad.

But I do thank you for being so public with your true feelings. It lets EVERYBODY know what human vermin you are.

And btw, your "apology" does not clean this stain off your soul. You're only apologizing for your timing, not your inhuman, anti-social, violent-natured "understanding," your inner ugliness, or your utter lack of compassion.

SHAME on you!!!

Very good point.

As much as part of me wants to say - "FUCK YOU AND YOUR STUPID-ASS FUCKING 'GRIEVANCES' - that you've just forfeited ANY right to have ANYBODY give half a rat's ass about," we still do need to know what makes them do this.

I remember watching the coverage of the World Trade Center bombings and the first thing that crossed my mind after the sheer confusion and dismay was - what would make them do this? Why would they want to do this to us? What would fuel that sheer hatred to motivate them to do this?

That's what I told heidi heitkamp's office.

They greatly appreciated my California money during the campaign (that, as a donor, I helped her win). Therefore, I expect certain principles to be upheld. And if she votes in ways I don't approve, I don't have to give her another nickel.

Definitely. Do it gently, but seems to me a teachable moment has arrived.

And ABSOLUTELY offer a gentle reminder, as so eloquently put in the OP:

But when it all came crashing down for them - as it has for so many "moochers" in this country - it was Democratic policies that threw them a lifeline.

Offering gentle help connecting the dots will always be beneficial. NEVER a bad thing to have the veil (and the wool) lifted away from the eyes.

May I offer the TOLL FREE Capitol Hill switchboard numbers in my sig line, below?

These are updated, too. I checked each of them before posting.

AND in the post here: a list of everybody who voted yes, and those who voted no.

Posted on my Facebook page.

The prompt tells me - "say something." I actually don't have to. That image speaks louder than anything.

ALTHOUGH... I plan to say plenty tomorrow with the Toll Free Capitol Hill switchboard numbers - collected in my sig line, when I call the "Democratic" Senators who voted to side with the filibuster-fiends and against the 80 - 90 percent of us from coast to coast on this issue.

For example, I've already written a message to Heidi Heitkamp. True, she represents North Dakota, and I'm in California. But does that make me irrelevant? HARDLY!!!!!!! I rather enjoy pointing out that when she was trying to get elected, her campaign was THRILLED to take my California money. They were DELIGHTED to talk to me. HAPPY to make time for me when I answered their call. And since my investment paid off and her campaign was successful, I'm well within my rights to believe that I helped her get that Senate seat. I paid. She took the money, and won. Therefore, I own her ass. And now, I see, my investment is turning into money down the drain. She voted against my expressed wishes.

Believe me, I called her Senate office after she spouted off on the Stephanopolous Sunday show several weeks ago, and insisted that nothing would get off the ground because what our side wanted was too extreme. I told them that this was something that, as her benefactor and campaign underwriter, I DID NOT WANT TO HEAR. I told the Heidkamp people that I did without several tanks of gas, and more, so that I'd have money to donate to campaigns like hers, and that I expect something in return. And if I don't get it, I'm GONE.

And I went further than that. I told that to Jim Dean when he personally called to thank me and shake me down for more. When the Al Franken people called me and hit me up, I told them he'd be next if he pulled a Heidi Heidkamp - as far as me being a reliable campaign donor. Because he was waffling on it, early-on. They ALL need to know. They ALL need to be aware that one of their little pals is in trouble if he/she won't bow to the wishes of the 80 - 90 percent. Never mind the 1 percent. Never mind the 47 percent. THIS, here, is the 80 - 90 percent talking.

If you helped at all, if you donated through ActBlue or any of those - or the DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) or the DSCC (Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee), DGCC (for Gubernatorial) and DLCC (Legislative) - you have a right to expect certain things in exchange for that. OR they don't have to receive money from you. It's that simple. And you have the OBLIGATION to let them know. The NRA isn't the only entity out there with muscles to flex.

There have never been consequences attached to a voting record - on OUR side, before. The other side has the NRA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and all those big guns twisting arms and leaning on the reps and senators they buy - to get the legislation they want. WHY CAN'T WE????

Remember: If They Think You Don't Care - THEY WON'T, EITHER!!!!!

April 18, 2013

Welcome to DU, Stonepounder!

Glad you're here! Disgraceful day. Even more disgraceful is the handful of Dems who voted with the bad guys. Stunning. And deeply shameful.

I humbly submit the Toll Free phone numbers to the Capitol Hill switchboard. Below, in my sig line. Call them during business hours. Call any Senator you can think of, if you really wanna know. The good and the bad. The good need to know we have their backs (because they're gonna be under siege from the NRA) and the bad need to know we have their number.

If they think you don't care, THEY WON'T, EITHER!!!!!

About calimary

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.
