I think some of the most important tools we have to fight with are talking points, sloganeering and messaging. And I think we have to get good at it, FAST!

We're dealing with Short Attention-Span Theater. That's the arena we have to fight in, every day. Dumbed down; don't like to read much; prefer to get their "news" from slick, splashy-packaged presentations with a lot of sparkle, pizazz, bright colors and bursts, special effects and animation, loud urgent musical punctuation, the booming, excitable (usually) male voiceover, logos and labeling and other visuals that attract the eye and hold it. And LOTS of red-white-and-blue - the bigger the better. Reagan used to appear in front of a backdrop that consisted of a HUGE American flag, in photos looking like it was 30-feet tall. And the cameras would be set up BELOW, so they were looking up at him. trump knows that trick. He knows ALL these tricks. Look at how trump Tower is all glitzed out - shiny, slick reflective surfaces, and lots of gold all over the place.

Remember: the eye is always drawn toward the "shiny object." Literally and figuratively. That's why everybody loves rainbows and 4th of July fireworks, diamonds are a girl's best friend, and "blondes have more fun." (No wonder trump has hit the yellow hair-dye probably on a daily basis.) Besides, research suggests that a majority of Americans process information visually.

Good for him! Others with that big a media platform should follow his lead.
