I pick stuff up when I’m out walking. Always keep a little bag with me for interesting rocks, pine cones, beautiful leaves when fall is coming, and yes, litter that some selfish careless asshole couldn’t be bothered to deposit in what is usually a very-nearby and convenient trash can.

And, yes, it both clears my mind AND generates ideas.

I could have used it at a little airport restaurant in Camarillo CA a few years back.

While we were still going out to restaurants, I made it a habit to ask the server or other restaurant worker to change the channel if the TV was tuned to Pox Noise. Always got polite compliance- except at this one restaurant. When I made my always-polite request, the young woman at the reception desk apologized and said the owner mandated that the TV always be tuned to Pox Noise.
