Hey, has anybody thought about trying to set up some DU meetup?
Lots of people from here whom Id enjoy meeting. You included!
Yeah, he kinda slunk outta town with his tail between his legs, 'eh?
Mr. Nothingburger.
Youd better believe hed have squeezed every last drop out of the Benghazi hearings if hed ever managed to lay a glove on her. Hed have been running toward every camera and mic in sight. Pitching himself for talking-head gigs on cable TV, or reassign a staffer to book him on talk shows while he still had a viable DC office. And hed try for a book deal and speakers bureau bookings too.
The fact that he fizzled so spectacularly was, and still is, INCREDIBLY satisfying! He tried everything, in every way, to dig up some dirt on Hillary Clinton. Something, anything.
I remember when Michael S. Schmidt, the New York Times reporter, had a front page story about a possible criminal investigation of her in connection to the Benghazi sham. And Michael S. Schmidt almost dutifully enlarged upon some sketchy, ill-defined dirt a source had told him that suggested a possible criminal investigation was approaching. And it turned out to be yet another Trey Gowdy Nothingburger. NOTHING came of it. Nothing EVER.
I also remember not seeing either Michael S. Schmidt OR Trey Gowdy making many more appearances on camera for awhile. They both kinda disappeared, at least temporarily. Schmidt is back at it, now, actually reporting on some legitimate dirt, and landing back on the front page again, and working on building a higher profile. Maybe hes actually digging up some real stuff because he gave up looking for dirt on Hillary and switched his focus to republi-CONS? I still cant help but suspect that the oh so sinister-sounding possible criminal investigation crap during the Benghazi hearings was a worthless tip Schmidt got FROM Trey Gowdy. Based on the reporting, I couldnt help but suspect that Schmidt was flush with GOP sources and contacts. He sure wouldnt be getting any tips like that from Democrats.
Yep! Follow the money.
ALWAYS follow the money.
Lordy, I remember this self-styled muckraker dude who worked on the AM side of this AM/FM combo where I worked on the FM side. We were talking outside the booth while some big scandal was roaring through the news, and thats what he told me. I was so green. This was - GULP! - some 40 years ago. Only my second on-air job for an actual paycheck, ever. But Id remembered reading about that same advice given during Watergate just a few years earlier: follow the money. So when I heard it again in an entirely different context, I can still remember thinking: hmmm... follow the money... I guess there must be something to it.
I don't know about you guys, but this absolutely made my day!
TOO damn funny! And shit - it fits! Ill never look at him again and not think of this, and not start laughing all over again!
And Putin probably realizes his asset is on borrowed time.
Not much time left to make good easily on the promises he extracted from trump. Whatever they talked about in Helsinki in secret that day, for two hours behind closed doors with nobody but their translators in the room, Putin knows trump only has a little time left to follow through.
Probably - and realistically- more like NO time left, now that the Democrats own the House and all the power to investigate, unchecked. Its gonna be a lot harder to sneak stuff under the radar now.
That said, it could mean Putin can really toy with him now. Twisting the tourniquet tighter and tighter. It might be a case of lets see how much we can get out of him now that hes getting desperate, and his way out of this mess is starting to close down. Lets have some fun... Particularly if Putin has a sadistic streak in him.
Wishing you strength, and gentle days ahead. And time.
You still have this time to be together. Its a very precious blessing.
Hugs.
