Democratic Manager: "And, here, you see video and numerous photos taken last evening and

clearly showing that the streets, sidewalks and lawns of our city were completely snow-free when night fell. And, since---as you all saw this morning as you made your way to this hearing---everything was blanketed with inches of fresh white snow when the sun rose, we submit that it is obvious that it snowed last night."

Senate Republican: "So, you don't have any witnesses who were awake and actually SAW it snow? No video taken during the supposed "snow fall" last night?
WHY ARE YOU WASTING OUR TIME WITH YOUR UNSUPPORTED ALLEGATIONS?"

The Senate Republican position about this trial in a nutshell:

Of course, we know Trump is guilty! What part of "WE DON'T CARE" do you socialist snowflakes not understand?

Graham, Paul. Cramer, etc.----Know why this trial is unquestionably constitutional?

BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF THE US SENATE JUST VOTED THAT IT IS!

Jeez! Try to keep up, willya?

Manson did not say "Go kill Sharon Tate" and the 8 others. We put him in prison for life.

There was no "actual proof" that Bin Laden ordered the terrorists to destroy those buildings and kill those people. We killed him.

Hitler had no idea which Jews were being murdered and cremated. We agree he was responsible for 7 million deaths.

There is no video of Trump instructing the Proud Boys to invade the Capitol, kill "anyone they got their hands on", "hang Pence" and "put a bullet in Nancy's friggin' head", so-----------------------------------------.

I have a question for Rand Paul and others who insist this trial is unconstitutional.

Do you intend to participate in this "unconstitutional" trial?

You certainly can't be intending to actually vote because that would be, in your "sincere" opinion, a knowing violation of the US Constitution which you revere.

So, why are you folks even attending this "disgraceful unconstitutional political stunt"?

Or, could it be that you are just attention whores who have no intent to do anything beyond raising hell and competing for "Pompous Ass of the Year"?

Some of the Senate Republicans are naked and pretending they're proud of their

obvious shortcomings.

When they arrogantly announce that "my mind is made up" before hearing the evidence; when they are asked if ANY evidence could persuade them to vote for conviction and they answer "No!" without hesitation; when they read novels or doodle while the Democrats present the "devastating" case against Trump, they have stripped off all pretense that they are honorable patriots.

They are making it very clear that the oath they took as they were "sworn in" is, in their view, just a quaint but meaningless recitation. They shamelessly publicize that they reject the obligation that their predecessors in both parties proudly undertook: to respect each other, their opponents and their predecessors.

Their naked disdain for our democracy would embarrass anyone with a shred of decency but, to paraphrase their leader, "They are who they are".

The difference between 52 and 72.

As I walked outside this morning to put some kitchen waste on the garden mulch pile, I was headed straight north into a biting wind as the thermometer hovered around 17 degrees.

At age 52, I would have grumbled and winced and maybe even cursed the sharp cold. I would have hurried to get back inside.

At 72, I still turn my collar up, but instead of wincing---I smile. How wonderful it is that this arthritic who has seen six dozen winters is still able to walk out into this cold snowy day and visit the empty frozen garden! What a privilege to linger and take it all in!

The day may come when I would give much to get out and feel the snow sting my cheeks and hear the north wind in the trees.

And, so, today I celebrate what some will call a bitter day. It has sweetness---if we will only taste of it.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I DO want to replace every single Trump-enabling seditionist now in

Congress. Further, I think it is possible.

If something is important to us, we will find a way.

If it isn't, we will find an excuse.
