Trump Booster Lin Wood's Georgia Runoff Suit Tossed Out By Judge

Source: Bloomberg

A federal judge dismissed an “astonishingly speculative” lawsuit brought by a high profile supporter of President Donald Trump who claimed that Georgia’s Jan. 5 runoff election is being undermined by lax rules for mail-in ballots on top of a vast voting-machine conspiracy.

Georgia attorney Lin Wood’s claims are “too generalized” and not backed by actual evidence of harm, U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten in Atlanta said Monday in tossing out the case, which echoed claims brought in similar lawsuits by former Trump campaign attorney Sidney Powell.i

Wood and Powell have been among the most vocal proponents of unsubstantiated conspiracy theories claiming that voting machines made by Dominion Voting Systems Inc. were used by corrupt election workers to switch millions of votes from Trump to President-elect Joe Biden.

But Batten, a George W. Bush appointee, cited numerous technical deficiencies in Wood’s case before singling out his claim that his rights are being violated by the state’s work with Dominion. Wood argues the machines are tainted by corrupt computer code created to help Hugo Chavez win elections in Venezuela, and that China, and possibly Iran, infiltrated the machines to help Biden win.

Meet the GOP freshmen taking on the 'Squad'

Politico

On the first day of Congress’ freshman orientation, four incoming GOP members realized they shared a special connection: All had first- or second-hand experience living in communist or socialist countries.

The crew quipped that their family histories with brutal dictatorships and their aversion to Big Government basically made them the opposite of the liberal “Squad” that has surged to political stardom in the House.

Taking a page from their social media savvy rivals, they took to Twitter to share the name of their own counterrevolution. And the Republican “Force” was born.

“It was a natural alliance that formed. … We understand what it’s like in other countries. We understand how truly special this nation is,” Rep.-elect Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.), whose mother was born in Cuba, recalled in an interview. “And we look forward to working together to push back on anyone who tries to bring a socialist agenda to America.”

The quartet — which includes Malliotakis and Reps.-elect Carlos Gimenez and Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida, and Victoria Spartz of Indiana — is positioning itself as a conservative counterweight to the Squad. And they are recruiting others in their class to join them.

The Post says: Give it up, Mr. President -- for your sake and the nation's

New York Post

Mr. President, it’s time to end this dark charade.

We’re one week away from an enormously important moment for the next four years of our country.

On Jan. 5, two runoff races in Georgia will determine which party will control the Senate — whether Joe Biden will have a rubber stamp or a much-needed check on his agenda.

Unfortunately, you’re obsessed with the next day, Jan. 6, when Congress will, in a pro forma action, certify the Electoral College vote. You have tweeted that, as long as Republicans have “courage,” they can overturn the results and give you four more years in office.

In other words, you’re cheering for an undemocratic coup.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Warned Not To Challenge Schumer In 2022

NYC Politics

The unconfirmed rumor that Congress Member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been thinking about running against NY State Senator, Chuck Schumer, has been circulating for quite some time, but according to the NY Post, New York State Democratic part head, Jay Jacobs is warning AOC not to take on Schumer.

Jacobs told the NY Post, “I think it would be a primary driven by ambition more than by need,”

“Chuck Schumer has been a progressive force in the state for decades,” Jacobs said. “She has a constituency that admires her and supports her, and they’re in her community, and I think it would be a loss for them if she were to do that.”

Although no official comments have been made by AOC regarding this latest statement by Jacobs, she told Vanity Fair a few months ago, “I don’t know if I’m really going to be staying in the House forever”.
