Trump resigns from Screen Actors Guild in rant-filled letter after they threatened to expel him
Source: The Independent
Donald Trump said he will resign from the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists after the group threatened to revoke his membership.
The former president said "who cares" to the group's threat, and followed SAG-AFTRA's board voting "overwhelmingly" that Mr Trump violated the union's guidelines by inciting the Capitol insurrection.
Fox News received Mr Trump's letter, which was addressed to the president of SAG-AFTRA.
"I write to you today regarding the so-called Disciplinary Committee hearing aimed at revoking my union membership. Who cares!" Mr Trump wrote in the letter. "While Im not familiar with your work, Im very proud of my work on movies such as Home Alone 2, Zoolander and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps; and television shows including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Saturday Night Lives, and of course, one of the most successful shows in television history, The Apprenticeto name just a few!"

My wife and I have never tried to game the market; we invest in the same set of mutual index funds every month and let our money work for itself.
How to Win at the Stock Market by Being Lazy
New York TimesYes, there is abundant greed and venality on Wall Street. But the reality is that the stock market has also offered a path for ordinary people to build wealth and more so in the last generation than ever before. You havent needed to burn down the system. All youve had to do is take the laziest, simplest approach to stock investing imaginable, and have a little patience.
Ever since Vanguard introduced its S&P 500 index fund 45 years ago, ordinary investors have been able to invest in broad stock indexes in a tax-efficient manner, with extremely low fees. Any schlub on the street can put money to work harvesting a small share of the earnings of hundreds of leading companies, led by some of the sharpest corporate executives on earth and their millions of employees. You havent had to do much of anything!
Your returns would have been strong even if you had terrible timing. Suppose you had received a $10,000 windfall in March 2000, the peak of the dot-com bubble and a moment at which we can all agree stocks were overpriced. Yet even with such unfortunate timing, if you invested that money in a low-fee S&P 500 index fund and reinvested dividends for the last 20 years, your $10,000 would have turned into nearly $28,000 by the end of this past month a 5 percent annual return when adjusted for inflation.
And that was the single worst month in decades to begin investing. On average, if you were to select a month between 1990 and 2019 to begin investing, your annualized return through January 2021 would have been 9.8 percent after inflation. Simply for having the patience to sit on your hands.

Record-breaking roller coaster will travel more than 155 miles per hour
CNN(CNN) A roller coaster now under development in the Middle East is set to smash existing records for speed, height and track length.
Called "Falcon's Flight," the ride will be the main attraction of Six Flags Qiddiya, due to open in Saudi Arabia outside of capital Riyadh in 2023.
According to a press release issued by the Qiddiya Investment Company, which has partnered with US-headquartered Six Flags to build the park, the coaster will travel across four kilometers (about 2.5 miles) of track.
Riders will experience the thrill of diving over a vertical cliff into a 160-meter-deep valley (525 feet) thanks to the use of magnetic motor acceleration (LSM technology), and "achieve unprecedented speeds of 250-plus km/h" -- about 155 miles per hour.
"The Falcon's Flight will also be the world's tallest free-standing coaster structure, featuring a parabolic airtime hill allowing a weightlessness airtime experience," says the release.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Was a Moderator of a Facebook Group Featuring Death Threats and Racist Memes
Source: Mother Jones
Before she was elected to the House of Representatives as a member from Georgia, Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Trumpy, QAnon-friendly, conspiracy-toting, gun-lovin, mass-shooting-denying, assassination-promoting lightning-rod Republican, was a top official of the Family America Project, a right-wing outfit. In that capacity, she served as one of a handful of moderators of the groups Facebook page, which has provided a forum for death threats against Democrats, bigoted attacks on the Obamas and others, and assorted conspiracy theories. The group has also championed the John Birch Society, a far-right conspiracist outfit that claimed throughout the Cold War that globalist and communist treason had penetrated the highest levels of US government.
Under her watch, the group served as a platform for some of the rights darkest notions.
Greenes official congressional biography proudly identifies her as the onetime national director of the Family America Project, which describes itself as a national umbrella organization connecting, uniting, and informing statewide grassroots groups and activists; working together and mobilizing to support President Trump [and] American roots and culture. The group was founded in January 2018 and is headed by Genevieve Peters, a veteran conservative activist who calls herself a Christian, passionate President Trump supporter & constitutional defender. Peters, an ardent coronavirus conspiracist, may be best known for a viral video from May capturing her refusal to wear a mask inside a California Trader Joes store.
Much of the groups political activity has been standard conservative fareopposing sanctuary cities and abortion rights, boosting Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barretts Supreme Court appointments. Its Facebook page promoted the January 6 march that led to the murderous raid on the Capitol. According to the page, Greene has been one of its 1,700 members for three years. While her bio does not specify what her duties were as the organizations national director, the groups page still lists her as one of just nine moderators.
Under the watch of Greene and that small group, the page has served as a platform for some of the rights darkest notions. A 2018 post shared on the page contained an image of a noose with the superimposed words If you want to make America great again, we will have to make evil people fear punishment again. The poster added, Start with Hillary and obama! (Greene endorsed hanging Obama and Hillary Clinton on her own Facebook page that year.)
