"Nonwhite versus white voters" from your link, Justin

Sanders cannot begin to match Clinton’s strong support among minorities; it’s no accident that his break-out states are heavily white Iowa and New Hampshire. Sanders is used to appealing to Vermont’s liberal and very white electorate.

According to the most recent Census Bureau estimates, Vermont has the second-largest percentage of non-Hispanic whites in the country, behind only neighboring Maine. Notably, New Hampshire and Iowa rank fourth and sixth, respectively. Demographically, the Democratic electorates in the first two primary or caucus states just happen to look a lot like Sanders’ home state. It also doesn’t hurt Sanders that New Hampshire is next door, reducing the costs of visiting the first-in-the-nation primary state.

Meanwhile, Clinton has a lifetime of experience appealing to African American and Hispanic voters. Though blacks strayed to Barack Obama in 2008, both the African-American leadership and rank-and-file seem solidly back in the Clinton camp for 2016. The most recent national polls peg Clinton’s support among white Democrats in the low-to-mid 50s, while her support among blacks is in the 60s. Meanwhile, Sanders may be in double-digits nationally now, but he’s not there with African Americans. While it’s true that Clinton did lead with blacks nationally this time eight years ago, her edge was smaller: One national Pew poll showed her up 47% to 34% with blacks over Obama in late July 2007. That’s a smaller lead than she has now, and obviously Obama always had great potential among black voters. There’s not much indication Sanders can be anywhere near as mighty a force in the black community.

Thank you.

"Obama administration to unveil major new rules targeting segregation across U.S."

"The new rules, a top demand of civil-rights groups, will require cities and towns all over the country to scrutinize their housing patterns for racial bias and to publicly report, every three to five years, the results."

Thank you for this, Stellar!

This is wonderful, apple.. and of course gets a big yawn on DU.. LOLOLOL

We need to expand opportunities for more families to reap the benefits of using cleaner sources of energy that can also help households save money on their utility bills,” Brian Deese, Obama’s top energy adviser, told reporters. While U.S. solar capacity has expanded exponentially and, not unrelatedly, become increasingly inexpensive, over the past decade, its benefits have been largely denied to about half of all American households, either because their roofs are too small or they are rental properties. The White House plans to address that by installing small, community solar farms into which entire neighborhoods can tap. By 2020, it wants to triple the solar capacity installed in federally subsidized housing to 300 megawatts — and will be unveiling more than $520 million in commitments from “charities, investors, states and cities” to encourage solar’s growth in lower-income communities.

After Solyndra Loss, U.S. Energy Loan Program Turning A Profit

snip//

Beacon Power President and CEO Barry Brits, at the company's plant in Hazle Township, Pa. He says a loan from the Department of Energy made it possible for his company to develop its flywheel energy storage technology.

In 2011, solar panel company Solyndra defaulted on a $535 million loan guaranteed by the Department of Energy. The agency had a few other high-profile bankruptcies, too — electric car company Fisker and solar company Abound among them. But now that loan program has started turning a profit.

Overall, the agency has loaned $34.2 billion to a variety of businesses, under a program designed to speed up development of clean-energy technology. Companies have defaulted on $780 million of that — a loss rate of 2.28 percent. The agency also has collected $810 million in interest payments, putting the program $30 million in the black.

Oh Shite! I could never see

the hide, either.. figured it was in a subthread where I had somebody on ignore.

Damn, 1StrongBlackMan.. I'm so sorry the alert police are trying to censor you.. and that goes straight to juries where there are "85% Bernie Supporters&quot got those stats from Skinner) on DU.. so you do the math. It's like a damn crap shoot stacked against us.. especially those who are more outspoken

It's a metaphorical mine field.. you can't say anything but agree with them or they'll alert on you. You last Hide is solid proof! And, Skinner says there's no abuse in the jury system.. or something to that effect. I'm so disappointed in his not being able to see that.

But, I am glad there are so many people Rec this thread, though.. At least these members don't want you silenced.

They weren't "whistleblowers".. they dropped thousands of documents they didn't even know what

was in them.

Chelsea Manning admitted her crimes unlike Snowden who hacked, stole, ran, leaked, and hid out in Russia.

And, Edward Snowden is anything but "honest".

This is the Barack Obama Group .. you have to the whole rest of the board to drop your ignorant cheap pot shots.
