Gay Rights Group Calls For The International Olympic Committee To Condemn Russia’s Anti-Gay Laws

Today, All Out delivered a petition to the International Olympic Committee calling for Russia’s anti-gay laws to be struck down.

The petition received more than 300,000 signatures from all over the world.

36 Photos From Russia That Everyone Needs To See

No wonder Konstantin Dolgov is out there trying to do damage control..

3. What began as a peaceful march…

4. …ended up turning incredibly violent as anti-gay protesters overtook the rally.

Pic at link..

5. A gay rights supporter is beaten to the ground.

There's more photos depicting how awful it was for these Gay People in Russia.. but, that's all I'm going to do. It's too painful

Not everyone thinks Putin is hot shit like some on DU..

..Dustin Lance Black Urges Hollywood to Confront Russia's Anti-Gay Laws

In Russia, it is currently illegal to walk down the street holding hands with someone of the same sex. But these new laws are even more far-reaching and sinister. As Harvey Fierstein wrote in his incredible whistle-blowing New York Times op-ed, "The law is broad and vague, so that any teacher who tells students that homosexuality is not evil, any parents who tell their child that homosexuality is normal, or anyone who makes pro-gay statements deemed accessible to someone underage is now subject to arrest and fines."

Yes, One of the reasons PBO is cancelling Putin's ass is his atrocious stance on Gay Rights..

"Obama: 'No patience' for anti-LGBT laws in Russia"

"Given our lack of progress on issues such as missile defense and arms control, trade and commercial relations, global security issues, and human rights and civil society in the last 12 months, we have informed the Russian government that we believe it would be more constructive to postpone the summit until we have more results from our shared agenda," the White House said.

President Barack Obama said Tuesday he has “no patience for countries that try to treat gays or lesbians or transgender persons in ways that intimidate them or are harmful to them.”

Speaking to “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, the president was asked by the host about recent legislation in Russia that cracks down on gay rights.

“Do you think it will affect the Olympics?” Leno asked the President, whose own views on the subject have evolved in the course of his presidency. Russia is slated to host the Winter Olympics in 2014, in the city of Sochi.

Obama was adamant. “Every judgment should be made on the track, or in the swimming pool, or on the balance beam, and people’s sexual orientation shouldn’t have anything to do with it.”

He also noted Russia’s eagerness for a successful Olympic games, saying "I think they understand that for most of the countries that participate in the Olympics, we wouldn't tolerate gays and lesbians being treated differently.”

It seems some just read your caption and comment on that.. not even seeing your "edit". Ready to pounce.

Beautifully Done~ Four Different Ebony Covers: "We Are Trayvon"~ September Issues

Making sure the tragedy and impact of the Trayvon Martin case doesn’t fall by the wayside, Ebony Magazine has dedicated four separate covers in September, to the ‘We Are All Trayvon’ movement with hopes of finding solutions on how we can protect and “Save Our Sons.” For the main cover, Trayvon’s family including his father Tracy Martin, mother Sybrina Fulton, and brother Jahvaris Fulton pose together, while celebrity fathers like Dwyane Wade, Boris Kodjoe, and Spike Lee pose on in grey hoodies with their sons for the three additional covers.

Inside, Ebony explores different ways to stop gun violence and repealing the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law, while featuring a prayer from Bishop T.D. Jakes.

Our groundbreaking September 2013 issue will explore concerns around racial bias, how to find solutions for those concerns and how to heal and move forward.

Perfect reaction, sheshe!

greenwald is a piss poor liar.. so easy to spot unless of course

ya don't care wtf he says as long as he's lyin' about Obama.

Furthermore, Greenwald continues to conflate legitimate whistleblowers with men who’ve leaked national security secrets, generally either to the press or to foreign governments. Based on the fact that the president signed the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act in 2012, he’s clearly used his authority as a means of encouraging government workers to come forward through proper channels and expose anyone who’s engaged in waste, fraud or abuse.

Extremist language used by a compulsive exaggerator.

I call "exaggerating" lying.

Mahalo, she

this is good, mc5.. thank you.

So, many people in Texas say "Thank you", President Obama and Senator Barbara Boxer, for having the courage to help and prevent another West, Texas disaster in the future. At the same time, many of us are very disappointed in the lack of action, "sitting on their hands" from our supposed leaders like Gov. Rick Perry, Senator John Cornyn, and Senator Ted Cruz. They are putting politics ahead of saving lives in Texas communities.

This is killer good.. in a Dallas paper!?

Gorgeous Tribute to President Obama's 52nd Birthday, She~

Laird Hamilton's Bodysurfing 101

"How to bodysurf"

The Superman approach of riding with both arms outstretched is how most novices wash ashore. But if you're trying to actually ride the wave – to go across the wave and not just barrel straight ahead – you want to ride on your side. Extend one arm out in front – right arm to go right or left arm to go left – and press off that hand. Your body will roll over on its side, increasing your edge in the water and allowing you to cut across the wave better. Then, stretch your other arm behind you and press your palm towards the water as a means to control your arch – as with a surfboard, you want your body to have a little curve. And the more rigid you are, the faster you go. Fins definitely help, but it's nice to go natural. It's a more intimate way to be in the surf.

"All you have to do is look at President Obama. He has great form. He's an exceptional bodysurfer. When people in Hawaii see a picture of Obama bodysurfing they're like, "Oh, yeah!" It's not like he just went there and pretended he's doing it. Especially with his front hand up. That's style points right there. Let's just say he's the best bodysurfing president that we've ever had."

– Laird Hamilton

Yep, that's our Prez.. born in Hawai'i.. has bodysurfing in his blood from when he was just a wee creature of the sea~
