Really, Don. Apt analogy.. you don't condone and let racism slide because

of ignorant racists. .. Juror #2 calling it "another little poke"

"Brain Damage"?! The reason given on this thread.. why African Americans favor Hillary over other candidates. And, the jury let it stay.

It illustrates everything that's being written about "progressives'" treatment of Blacks on the net.

You're welcome, betsuni.. I'm glad you got to hear it. I'm so grateful I did.

I got a whole different perspective than the spin on DU which I wasn't buying anyway.

Mahalo for Chief Seattle's speech.. poignantly beautiful.

Chief Seattle's speech about land treaty in 1854:

"Every part of this country is sacred to my people. Every hillside, every valley, every plain and grove has been hallowed by some fond memory or some sad experience of my tribe. Even the rocks which seem to lie dumb as they swelter in the sun along the silent seashore in solemn grandeur thrill with memories of past events connected with the lives of my people. And when the last red man shall have perished, and the memory of my tribe among the white men shall have become a myth, these shores will swarm with the invisible dead of my tribe, and when your children's children think themselves alone in the field, the store, upon the highway, or in the silence of the pathless woods, they will not be alone. In all the earth there is no place dedicated to solitude. At night when the streets of your cities and villages go silent and you think them deserted, they will throng with the returning hosts that once filled and still love this beautiful land. The white man will never be alone. Let him be just and deal kindly with my people for the dead are not powerless. Dead -- did I say? There is no death, only a change of worlds."

From "A Time of Gathering, Native Heritage in Washington State."

thank you! I wanted to put it in my journal #BlackLivesMatter

I alerted as well as posted to the racist pos. Wow Juror #2? What's wrong with them..

"Normally I would vote to hide this. But why? Admin is allowing DU to melt down(sorry guys but it's true) so why hide another little poke."

Calling African Americans "brain damaged" who vote for Hillary.. "another little poke"?

This was my alert..

"Says "brain damage" when answering why African Americans favor Hillary.

What kind of ugly, mean spirited crap is allowed to permeate DU these days?"

"Someone else already alerted on this post before you alerted on it, and only the first alert was sent to a Jury. A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of the post on Wed Aug 12, 2015, 03:05 AM, and voted 3-4 to keep IT. Please note that even though your alert was not sent to a Jury, it has been forwarded to the Administrators who review all alerts."

kwassa, thank you so much for your OP.. I've just read the thread..

many kindred spirits on here. It feels comfortable.

You've nailed the analysis perfectly.. and it's been going on since people were questioning Bernie's launch. African American posters were asking what would he do about the racial injustice going on in America and they were accused and attacked for "calling Bernie a racist!".. which was far from the truth but then you know that.

Yes, "popularity votes" .. DU ain't what it use to be. I'm in the minority but I wouldn't have it any other way. I like my fellow travelers a lot. We'll keep plugging away until the primary is over.. and then!?.. Well we'll see won't we.

In the mean time .. thank goodness for the AA Community and other protected Groups.. where attempts are made to intrude and be rude.. but, we really can't expect anything better from the disruptors. They think they're helping. rofl

#BlackLivesMatter However they want to protest .. I'm good.

Well said, Walk away.. if anyone doubts that.. they need to

take a look at the numbers and pics of our AA Community standing in long lines for hours to elect President Obama in 2008 and re-elect him in 2012!

I am grateful for their Activism forever!

"It's not just that we need their numbers to win. We need them to bring their unique perspective and energy to our candidate. When their agenda is all of our agenda, the United States will be a better country."

Mahalo~

Yeah, kind of hard not to notice that most of these same people insisted on holding Pres Obama's

"feet to fire" for 7 years now.. but, don't try to touch Bernie's feet even peripherally.

Or you'll get shouted down, alerted on, and juried out.. like Bravenak.

August 12, 2015

That's their latest.. "divisive.. " I was accused of that yesterday because

I posted a compelling post from FB by Washington State Senator, Pramila Jayapal

"Why Saturday's Bernie Sanders Rally Left Me Feeling Heartbroken"

beautiful snip//

'To build a movement, we have to be smarter than those who are trying to divide us. We have to take our anger and rage and channel it into building, growing, loving, holding each other up. We need our outlets too, our places of safety where we can say what we think without worrying about how it's going to land, where we can call out even our white loved ones, friends, allies for what they are not doing. But in the end, if we want to win for ALL of us on racial, economic, and social justice issues, we need multiple sets of tactics, working together. Some are disruptive tactics. Some are loving tactics. Some are truth-telling tactics. Some can only be taken on by white people. Some can only be taken on by people of color. Sometimes we need someone from the other strand to step in and hold us up. Other times, we have to step out and hold them up. Each of us has a different role to play but we all have to hold the collective space for movement building together. That's what I hope we all keep in mind and work on together. It's the only way we move forward.'

Much MOre..

You can't speak for African Americans then can you? I see a Host of this AA Group has

spoken up for she.. so that ends discussion. She doesn't need to go around posting "I'm white" to satisfy those who don't get it.

It's incredible that you would want to stop her from posting poignantly beautiful pics of African American kids, anyway.

What's it to you? too bad if it upsets some people on here that she is dedicated to supporting the struggles of African Americans in our Country.. particularly focusing on Police Violence since Trayvon Martin's murder.
