40 FBI agents are in Ferguson to investigate the shooting of Michael Brown

"40 FBI agents have arrived in Ferguson, Missouri to investigate the shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown, Missouri Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson announced Saturday.

According to Johnson, who is currently in charge of security in Ferguson, the agents were already canvassing the neighborhood where Brown was killed, seeking eyewitnesses to the killing and other evidence.

The FBI also handed out cards requesting information from local residents, which could be filled out and returned to investigators directly, or to members of the local clergy."

"At the onset of our federal civil rights investigation, the Attorney General of the United States promised a thorough and complete investigation into the shooting death of Michael Brown. That investigation is proceeding. We can confirm that FBI agents, working together with attorneys from the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division and US Attorney’s Office, have already conducted several interviews of witnesses on the scene at the time of the shooting. Over the next several days, teams of FBI agents will be canvassing the neighborhood where the shooting took place to identify any individuals who may have information related to the shooting and have not yet come forward. We ask for the public’s cooperation and patience, and again urge anyone with information related to the shooting to contact the FBI. The FBI can be reached at (800) CALL-FBI, option 4."

The hyperbolic knee jerking last night at President Obama was disgusting..

Republicon talking points and shit coming from their own minds.. nothing to do with reality.

They obviously have not been paying attention or if they have they lost it.. and didn't give a shite..

If you've paid close attention over the last 5 1/2 yrs, Pres Obama doesn't speak unless he has a clear understanding & a working plan to fix

The President's words..

“His family will never hold Michael in their arms again”

"Of course, it’s important to remember how this started. We lost a young man, Michael Brown, in heartbreaking and tragic circumstances. He was 18 years old. His family will never hold Michael in their arms again. And when something like this happens, the local authorities –- including the police -– have a responsibility to be open and transparent about how they are investigating that death, and how they are protecting the people in their communities."

"Lastly, the contrast between this episode and Hillary's Atlantic interview is amazing. It's no..

wonder the Israeli official quoted in the article says all they have to do is wait out Obama for 2 years."
August 13, 2014

Actually he said "horseshit".. not to Hillary when she called but to those

critics who said he should have armed Syrian rebels. He said it before her interview came out but pretty sure she got the message.

"Apparently President Obama has had it with the argument that he should have armed the Syrian rebels during the early days of the civil war. The old complaint was revived as the situation in Iraq worsened last week, most famously by Hillary Clinton. In an interview with The Atlantic, Clinton noted that she urged the president to intervene in Syria, and said that failing to arm the moderates "left a big vacuum," which ISIS filled.

Now the Daily Beast reports that when Republican Senator Bob Corker raised the issue during a meeting with Senate and House leaders on July 31, the president became "visibly agitated." He concluded his lengthy response by telling Corker that the idea that early U.S. intervention would have led to a better outcome in Syria was "horseshit." Obama wasn't alluding to Clinton, as her remarks hadn't been published yet, but it seems he's so frustrated by the criticism that he's forgetting to let his anger translator Luther do the cursing."

THe rest..

So well said, MBS.. Thank you!

"I was not happy about her comments, especially about the TIMING of her comments

quite apart from the content of her remarks (much of which I disagreed with, especially the parts highlighted in the OP), it seems to be a less than classy approach,as a fellow Democrat who was SoS during the many of the events in question, to criticize Obama's foreign policy while he is the sitting president.. . and especially now, when he is getting such flack from Repubs. Of course, she has a right to voice her opinions, but the timing and public nature of her remarks. . well,it's not my idea of personal or political loyalty, or even empathy for what Obama has to deal with right now.

Personally, as the global storms continue to multiply, I've thought daily how lucky we are to have a president who respects the facts and thinks before he acts, who has tried as much as possible to work in concert with allies rather than take the W. "cowboy" approach, and who has the ability to "connect the dots" when considering the implications of each crisis and each response to each crisis."
