crickets's JournalMust read article.
It explains a lot about what is and isn't going on with the CDC right now. It shows just how powerful early social distancing can be, how different community dynamics and local politics can skew a situation where no overarching policy is mandated, and how much we are paying with our lives because of one sociopathic narcissist.
If nothing else, trump is hanging on by his fingernails until
the completely unnecessary and dangerous pep rally with the Marines. The stunt has nothing to do with their hard earned graduation and everything to do with his selfish gratification.
Because FOX spews the lies and hate they want to hear.
And there is a definite brainwashing effect when they hear those lies over and over again.
How Fox News evolved into a propaganda operation
Right wing media are now brainwashing young and old alike
How Fox brainwashed conservative America
Apparently, Murdoch was completely correct in his insight, as the so-called news channel portended to offer alternative views, spewing that the standard media was biased towards liberal opinions. This was the first of a long list of claims that didnt stand up to fact checkers or statistics. [snip]
While people of all ideologies enjoy hearing validation of their personal beliefs, conservatives are the least likely to want to hear anything that contradicts them. There is also a kind of brainwashing aspect that occurs in hearing a lie repeated over and over again. I address this topic in my article: Supporting Trump: The Psychology of the Lie [snip]
If you hear a lie often enough, it starts to sound true. According to whats called the illusory truth effect, the more you hear a false statement, the truer it starts to sound. This is even true when you should know better. In a fascinating, if disheartening, 2015 study, researchers showed that if people repeated the phrase The Atlantic Ocean is the largest ocean on Earth enough times, the Atlantic Ocean did indeed begin to seem like the largest ocean on Earth.
A constant stream of lies becomes so mentally taxing that your brain gives up. Its called cognitive load, Konnikova writes, meaning that our limited cognitive resources are overburdened. Lie detection is difficult work, and your brain can only handle so much.
Nailed it! trump's been wanting a rally, and by gum he's going to get one...
even if it kills somebody.
Tara Reade strikes me as someone who may not be entirely healthy,
someone who is allowing herself to be used as a pawn against the Democratic presidential candidate. Her claims against Biden are not credible. The only people happy to continue to provide air to this story are Trumpers, disgrunteld Bernie fans, and Putin himself.
Other than to help the above mentioned groups of people in their aims, is there really any constructive reason for discussing Tara Reade's issues?
Kinda hard to go all scorched earth on your opponent when you are responsible
for the deaths of tens of thousands of people, with more dying every day.
Just sayin'.
This is who most of us really are.
Every time I get so depressed about our situation, some fellow citizen somewhere does something selfless and amazing to remind me that, for the most part, we are a decent people who care for one another, and we can never let the sad clown prez dancing on the stage make us forget that.
I love that farmer from Kansas so much right now.
Nice try, liar. When is sarcasm ever appropriate at a WH briefing
that is supposed to be addressing issues regarding a pandemic that has killed tens of thousands of US citizens?
Now that somebody has broken the ice, it's time for more people to ask
the same question over and over again. The word resign also comes to mind. I'm waiting for some brave soul to finally start using that word on the air.
It's time. It's past time.
I love it. Making McConnell own his selfish hypocrisy over and over is just glorious.
They both know that bill will never happen, can never happen. Moscow Mitch just needs to close his jackass mouth.
Oh, I love that somebody has finally stood up to Mitch and made it stick. Fabulous.
