Busdriver told black man he did't pick him up because he was black.
White teenager was yelling at black boys playing in a Minneapolis park; girl friend calls cops. They zoom up with guns drawn. When bystander offers 1 boy shirt, police accuse him of interfering with police.

One author started a book series with 'cocky' in the title--a la The Cocky Cowboy. Then filed a copyright claim on the word (when used in book titles). The author stopped Amazon from selling some books whose authors had been notified of copyright infringement.
The vox article does a good job explaining some of the legal and financial ramifications of this kind of copyright claim.
NB. I discovered this controversy when I checked the romance novelist Courtney Milan's twitter posts. I dìd this after learning from a DU dicussion of a post at Crooksandliars that reveals her experience of harassment by the 9th circuit judge for whom Trump's SCOTUS pick worked. The DU post points out this Trump pick may have a 'hear no evil, see no evil' problem like the OH House member who was a wrestling coach at Ohio State.

Theological
1) German is the perfect eschatalogical language--everyone is waiting for the end.
2) Seminary students joke that all theological works in German come in 2 volumes: all the verbs are in the second one.
Business
German products have such a high international reputation because Germans are trained from birth to pay attention all the way to the end. (Comment made by a student in a college Business German course.)

Do most of our prescription drugs come from China? If so, how will trade war affect drug prices?
Read some yrs ago that most prescription drugs sold in US come from China.
Also read that a high % of toys come from China.
Horror thought: might T gang drop some regulations on the use of humans in univ research??
This occurred to me while reading a science fiction story in which such regulations were mentioned.
IIRC many of these regulations were developed in reaction to what was learned about the Nazi experiments on the inmates in the concentration camps.
I now can believe they might do anything if one of the gang or their donors saw a way to meke $$$!!
