I had an important realization this weekend:
I had gotten off the phone with a patient who was blatantly lying to me. And I began reflecting that more and more people are telling me outrageous lies about things which occurred and they have no conscience, do not seem to care that their lies are transparent, are not concerned about any of the ramifications, and then expect me to operate as though these lies were the truth.
In addition, a coworker was making a grotesque error of action and judgment, was called to the carpet by the boss, stated that I had been informed of this and that I was OK with it, the boss knew that I had not been informed and did not have the temerity to call this person out on the lie. I spoke with the boss and she knows that this person lies and I told her that in my day, lying about such an egregious incident would lead to immediate firing on the spot. She agreed that should be the case, but it seems that lying has become normative.
I approached the coworker and said if you ever Lie. about anything that has to do with me again I will go to management and tell them everything that you were up to during the day involving your Internet surfing, your family communications, your communications with your husband, your communications with your boyfriend, and your leaving early when you think no one’s looking.
I’ve come to the conclusion that people just don’t care anymore because they see the person at the very tippy top getting away with it so why shouldn’t they? Personally, I don’t really care on this level unless it threatens my job, my well-being, or makes me liable for professional sanctions.

84 days left to Election Day. Tomorrow is 1.19047619047619% closer. That fraction grows each day. We need to control the news cycle and displace his attempts to shift the focus to him unless it’s another catastrophic mistake.

Now I understand how Holocaust deniers' brains work.
You see, because I’m so outspoken and my rage goes from 0 to 120 in three seconds, no one has ever had the guts to expound Holocaust deniers’ philosophy to me as an advocate. This pandemic however has taught me a lesson in how these people think and act and use false narrative and supposition to attempt to achieve their goals.
As I’ve mentioned it a couple previous posts, I belong to a group on Facebook of dentists and dental personnel who are trying to cope during this epidemic. Of course, you have a nucleus of Trump pumpers and Humpers who dominate the conversation and do everything that you know that they do to disrupt and deflect and the negate the importance of what is really going on.
Things came to a crescendo yesterday when one of the assholes posted a story stating that evidence was mounting that the pandemic was not as serious as was originally thought. Of course, it turned out that the article from NPR was over two months old, and I made the statement that the only thing that was mounting were the Trump pumpers on Trump’s leg. This of course led to the predictable reaction, and the fight was on. It lasted well into the night and I awakened to something like 75 new posts since I’ve gone to bed.
One young lady made the statement that these deniers should just get coronavirus already and die. Predictably, all these pseudo-altruistic people chided her for wishing ill Upon someone. I say: go for it. I’m looking forward to a fair number of cases of Karma. I have only two words for them: Herman Cain.
ALERT: You heard it here first
OK, let me set the stage for you. I was driving to my home in Ventnor New Jersey yesterday at about 6:30 PM and was detoured away from my Direct route home. There was a gigantic police presence on the main road in what’s called Ventnor Heights and I was forced to go to Atlantic City center, hang a right and proceed to the alternate route to the island upon which I reside.
Early news reports, and reports of neighbors who were in the shopping center when this event occurred were the following: there was a black man running through the marsh who turned around and started charging officers. People heard between five and seven reports of gunfire and the individual lay on the ground Unmoving. An ambulance came and took him away.
Mentions were made of a mail truck stopped in the middle of the street, with the door open and that he may or may not have been attempting to enter the truck. Of course, our closed Facebook group of local citizenry proffered all kinds of theories, including, naturally, some racist ones which were deleted immediately, to the credit of the moderators, and scant reports have surfaced Since.
As an aside, the police here think they’re in the TV show CHiPs: I leave it to your imagination as to why I think this is the case.
In any event, it’s been very quiet, weirdly so, and then this suddenly appears:

Hmmm is all I have to say.
I have experienced a fascinating realization:
As I’ve mentioned in a couple of posts here, I have an hour and 10 minute commute each way to work these days and instead of listening to MSNBC back-and-forth, I began listening to the audiobook written and read by Trump’s niece. It is, to say the least, overwhelming to hear her tell the tale in her voice. I had started reading the book And was extremely impressed at her narrative style and of course the story.
But nothing prepared me for the experience of listening to her relate these incidents with her emotionality at appropriate levels. I might suggest anyone who has access to audiobooks to give it a try and listen if nothing else but the prologue.
