Well, just when you think you've heard everything...

I have alluded to the few Tea Partiers in my practice over the years. They've been kind of quiet here since the re-election of their nemesis, BHO, but yesterday, the bombardment began again:

"Did you hear about the poisoning of water from the chemical plant? It was the White House operatives who caused the leak in order to distract from Benghazi."

Stunned, I replied in a whisper, "I have no doubt..." She thought I was agreeing with her...in my brain I finished the sentence, "...that you are insane."

I recemented her crown and dismissed her promptly...

The unmitigated joy of many including me in this whole Christie business is quite fascinating:

Many of us, including this writer, were bullied in school, at camp, on the playground, in our own homes, and anywhere else miscreants are permitted to wander. I for one was mercilessly pounded for six years in my grade school and then finally grew enough height, muscle, and fortitude to punch the goddamned lights out of this particular anti-Semitic creep, and no one ever laid a hand on me again at that school. And mind you, this was a Quaker school where I was permitted by the faculty and the playground staff to be assaulted on a daily basis. My Mom never knew of the volume of this because I was too proud to tell her, but later in life I confessed and she was, of course, upset that I hadn't said anything much to her, but understood that that was how things were perceived by young boys in that era.

All that being said, many of us who were the victims all those years shrank from this Governor of New Jersey and were repelled by his affect. Watching and listening to him in those confrontations made the fear and bile rise up in my guts and my psyche and I hated him...no, despised him for that behavior. Perhaps "detested him" is a better phrase. In fact, as they used to say in MAD magazine, "Him I didn't like."

But after that press conference today, I actually hate him even more. That despicable self-victimization, that phoney upset and stages of grief BS was almost more than I could take. I could actually hear the coach hired for this express purpose telling him how to be phony-contrite, phony-responsible, phony-sanctimonious, phony-concerned, phony-incredulous, phony-moral, and phony-concerned. But he's not fooling most: he is an individual who clearly has an impulse-control disorder and megalomania, among other pathologies. I am eagerly awaiting chapter 2.

I've been WAITING for this to happen to Christie for YEARS...

Bullying, aggressive, smug, contrary, sneering, unappealing people should understand that the universe of the rest of us are lying in wait for their downfall and it does not take much for the flywheel to start spinning rapidly. So petty, so unnecessary, but typical....and CHURLISH (for you Key and Peele fans).

It was +52 degrees F in Philly as I was driving to work at 5 A.M.

by tonight it's gonna be in single digits...and let's not overlook the fact that my outside thermometer Saturday morning said 0 degrees. I'm SO CONFUSED!

It's true: I've only been around 60+ years so I have no perspective...this isn't weird or anything...it's just that we keep having once-in-a-thousand-year storms, temperature swings of 50 degrees every 24 hours, record precipitation in the Summer months, ice storms where there were never ice storms, chronic coastal flooding unlike any recorded...and this is Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore...we are, or at least WERE known for some reasonable consistency in our weather. I've lived here all my life and the way storms would approach the area was: you would see a dimple of relief in the weather map which vaguely coincidentally covered the whole original 215 area code and much of south Jersey. Snowfall and rainfall was generally more moderate, and if, say Harrisburg got 10 inches of snow, we'd get 3 or four tops and if a storm came up the coast, we were somewhat sheltered and get maybe 2/3 of what northern Jersey and Long Island would get. Not now...

Gee...it almost makes you think that perhaps something is different?

Report: Was Kim Jong Un's uncle fed alive to dogs?


A report from a Chinese newspaper says that North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, executed his uncle by feeding him stripped and naked to starved dogs, according to several media reports.

Several other news organizations were circulating the story, but none appears to have verified the version independently.

The Straits Times, which covers Asia, published a story Dec. 24 that the execution of Jang Song Thaek, who was the number two man in North Korea, was a horrifying scene. The newspaper based its story on Dec. 12 account published in the Hong Kong based publication, Wen Wei Po., which often serves as a mouthpiece for Beijing officials. According to the report, Jang was not killed by firing squad.

Rather: "he was stripped naked and thrown into a cage, along with his five closest aides. Then 120 hounds, starved for three days, were allowed to prey on them until they were completely eaten up. This is called "quan jue", or execution by dogs." The process took up to an hour and Jong Un supervised it, according to the account.
