Heard on CNN this AM:

Guest: Lindsay Graham went to...

Moderator: You mean the shell that used to be Lindsay Graham.

I laughed out loud.

Yasmin Vossoughian just gave a thoughtful retrospective of the Trump era

On msnbc just now. Not amazingly insightful, nothing we didn’t know here, but it was heartfelt and quite real. Worth finding if you have two or three minutes.

At noon on Wednesday, it all turns back into a pumpkin

And I’m not talking about all the material goods and of course The Beast...

He is reduced to that of a mortal, ordinary citizen, albeit one who has committed many crimes and he will come to realize when he’s lying in his smelly bedclothes, trying to fall asleep, that the worst mistake of his life was to win the presidency. Yes, it will poke through his narcissistic defenses and cause the somatic aspect of his being to react in a very untoward fashion. He is now the official lightning rod for every prosecutor who has higher aspirations.

When I was young, my father told me that you never ever want to be the focus of a prosecutor, particularly aFederal prosecutor who is judged by his or her successes and promoted for same. Like the Terminator, they do not stop until they achieve their objective of destroying the target. This idiot has punched a wasp’s nest. He’s about to be stung, as is his criminal crew of a family.

A reflection:

I would like to take this moment of great historical importance to make a request to some of you.

In the past, a fair number of us have posited that there were wide conspiracies involving certain occurrences within and without the United States. You all know what I’m talking about. We are often dismissed as “conspiracy theorist“, “paranoid”, “ridiculous”, and other epithets which are quite frankly, undeserved.

Once you scratch the surface of this horror which occurred on the sixth, you see the plotting and planning behind it involving people of significance and the faulty execution due to ignorance is of course no excuse for their seditious behavior nor does it imply that there was no plot because the Insurrectionists failed to murder the elected government officials. In the future, when something happens, and some people believe there may be others involved who are not front and center, I would beseech all of you to have an open mind and think that Rarely do things occur in a vacuum, by a lone nut, or by a rogue entity.

Yes, many times there are incoherent or irrational theories proffered by some, but they are often placed by conspirators to obscure the truth. I have lived long enough to watch the unfolding of these stories, as have indirect knowledge of one particular incident from family members of people involved and trust that these individuals were telling me the truth

Of course, I don’t want to be specific here, I don’t wish to start a discussion involving any particular incident or series of incidents, but I will only request that when something occurs please stop for a moment and think to yourself what else could be going on here, what do certain people gain by this occurring, and are there any unexplained holes in the story which are deliberately left unfilled. Doing so will not imply that you are paranoid, it will imply that you are a thinking person and that you understand that there may be complexities of which you are presently unaware and that drawing conclusions based upon limited information may be premature. I sincerely thank you for your consideration in this regard.

Now we are about to watch history in the making.

As an historical aside:

When I was young, my parents told me that just prior to the second world war there was a tremendous surge of publically-demonstrated anti-Semitism, fascism, pure Nazism, repression, and horrifying racial bigotry. My mother in particular had grown up and was living very close to the German neighborhood here in Philadelphia, and was subjected constantly to vicious and threatening pro-Hitler, anti-Semitic threats and diatribe. This is not some thing which is new in America, it is pervasive and omnipresent. This prick in the White House has stirred the pot which had been simmering and these people take great pride in their hate, their bigotry, and their ignorance.

No one has mentioned the Nashville bomb in relation to this

Is everyone CERTAIN that that was an isolated incident? Do we KNOW that it wasn’t a dry run for multiple attacks? We used to assume that the Feds were aware of many significant plots, but if they had been told to stand down during the last few months since that whole change at DOD, then who really knows? I would make no assumptions about anything. At all. Whatsoever. This whole episode has been a synthesis of movie scripts and coordinated insanities.

Remember: there is no floor. None.

This "riot" was not "the dog chasing the car"

And the finishing clause: “what’s he gonna do with it if he catches it?” This seems to have been a ham-handed plot to capture and/or kill various legislators ranked by importance. There was a team placed surreptitiously to effect this plan.

We all know that there was a plan from the highest levels of the Trump Order to do this, apparently only slightly better organized than the Four Seasons Landscaping fiasco, the masses’ noise wasto cover for the tasked individuals’ mission of destruction and death.

We have not been apprised of the plan in detail, and we may never be. The plot to overthrow the branch of government failed but not by much. In other nations we know what happens to ringleaders and participants in coups: they are put to death en masse and ignominiously. That is generally not how we handle these things for the most part, but there’s always Timothy McVeigh’s fate to consider for these miscreants.

In my nearly seventy years, I never thought I would live through political traumas greater than the assassination of a President Kennedy or the Cuban Missile Crisis, but I was wrong. We all witnessed the attempt to dissolve the Union, something that our enemies have dreamed of for over two hundred years.

Now don't get me wrong...

The vast vast number of these Rethuglican elected officials are deserving of derision and vilification in extremis, BUT...

We keep seeing video of them being accosted in airports, train stations, and stores. These people are in danger as are our own Democratic officials. The last thing this country needs is Government by Assassination. I hope that there is more care taken in the future -I don’t much like this. Yeah, I know: Lying Lindsay is a real POS but you know...you KNOW that it’s only a matter of time before one of these lunatics goes after, say Senator Leahy or Senator Schumer. The climate here is like that of a third world nation.

Or, as Donald J Trump would call it: a shithole country.

On edit: I apologize for my autocorrect idiocies

Anyone we call a film entitled Stone Cold with Brian Bosworth?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stone_Cold_(1991_film)

So I think these tinhorn revolutionaries have been watching this brand of film. Of course, if they were competent, they’d have planned better...

To make a long story short, a group of motorcycle gang members plan to attack and murder the entire Mississippi Supreme Court, which they actually do manage to get done, then the usual action film ending occurs. I saw it in 1991 when it came out on cable and it was actually not bad: Bosworth, Lance Henriksen, and a few others make it a most watchable film for its genre.

The concept to storm government buildings and killing leaders or taking hostages is nothing new but In the old days, as we used to call them, it was father for movies not real life.

As an addendum: I was always surprised Bosworth didn’t have a film career worth discussing. His presentation was the synthesis of Burt Reynolds and Arnold Schwarzenegger and was strangely charismatic as an actor. This is one of those great films that you watch at two in the morning on Cinemax and no one else has seen.
