on MSNBC. Giving a realistic assessment of the debate but avoiding the "World is on Fire" routine. Reasonable, serious critique.
Have Tapper or Bash corrected one lie?
I know they said they wouldn't fact check, but this is ridiculous. The lies about Jan.6 alone are breathtaking.
Loud, bragging lies are still lies

If you're feeling a little queasy about the latest NYT poll
and others, take a look at Simon Rosenberg's twitter page. I first heard him on Lawrence O'Donnell's show. He follows the polls and puts them in the proper perspective.
His take is that many of these polls (he calls them red wavvy) have terrible track records from 2022. They were not accurate. Just as importantly, he points out that cheato's administration learned from 2020 that it was difficult to scream that the election was stolen when the polls had showed Biden leading.
So since then, starting in 2022 they had arranged for questionable RW polls to shape the narrative so that STEALING 2024 will be easier.
It's all part of the effort to steal our democracy, and I for one know that they're capable of it.
CNN hosts won't fact check so how about this?
Apparently Jake Tapper and Dana Bash have already said they won't fact check cheato. Why I don't know. Kind of seems like their job. I get that they may miss things when the rapid fire lies start flying, but to not even try?
So that being the case, I think Joe should say in his opening statement that his team will do real time fact checking on their website and tell viewers how to check it. The all important low information voters need to hear the truth and they don't know it right now.
No pressure, Joe.
It's important to fact check but not too much. It's important to hit cheato on abortion but don't forget kitchen table issues. Mention the felony convictions but not too much. Be energetic but don't overdo it. Sound knowledgeable but not overprepared. Keep it short and punchy. Pivot and hit back. Act like you're having fun. Be a happy warrior. But show empathy.
This is a snapshot of some of the advice I've heard from the talking heads this morning. A lot of it is contradictory. Trying to be all things to all people is a losing battle IMHO.
My advice? I hope Joe is relaxing today. Maybe listening to some upbeat music.
"Love Train" by the O'Jays? I hope he's relaxed and hope he flashes his great smile when cheato goes off the rails.
That ruling enabling "tips" for public servants yesterday
is getting lost in all the pre debate drama. But it is an atrocious ruling. The constitution forbids bribes and rewards, and the SC just basically said who cares, it's cool with us. According to them, because this individual's "tip" came after he helped the trucking company, it doesn't count.
We are steadily moving towards an autocracy in so many ways thanks to them. I don't want this to get lost in the shuffle.
I think I like this Gov. Tim Walz guy
He was on CNN today and said the following when asked about cheato's preparation for the debates:
"Of course he's not preparing. He doesn't prepare for anything...he's an entertainer. Now he can talk about his felonies."
