He just said that this is a win for Kimmel. He's coming back and will get a standing ovation. Trump? He'll tweet mean stuff at Kimmel, according to Rogan. But Rogan said he asks himself how trump has time to do that when he has a country to run?
They just ran the video on CNN.

She just posted "If someone at the UN intentionally stopped the escalator as the President and First Lady were stepping on, they need to be fired and investigated immediately."
She's always got her finger on the pulse of what's important for the American people, doesn't she? 
NBC Breaking: Trump says he now thinks Ukraine can win back all of its territory taken by Russia
"The president's post came after he met with Zelensky at the U.N. General Assembly, and marks a major shift from his previous statements."
Major shift is one way of putting it. All that's missing is that they'll get their territory back "in two weeks."

This morning trump canceled a meeting with Schumer and Jeffries because of their "ridiculous" (his words) demands on healthcare for the American people.
Jeffries has already posted that trump always chickens out, and says he chickened out of their meeting.
Love the framing, Speaker Jeffries! 
The Dem leadership got some backing from Kamala last night on Rachel's show when she was asked if the Dems should shut down the government. She said it won't be the Democrats that shut it down, it will be the Republicans! The Dems are doing what they need to do to protect healthcare. (paraphrasing)
So keep on coalescing, Dems. The base is all in!!!
Do the lies just not count anymore?
The corporate media has been doing a fairly good job of critiquing trump's UN speech, even using non-normalizing adjectives like "mocking" and "lecturing" and "boasting" to describe it. But what about lying? :
To me, that's even more damning, because honesty is not just a matter of style.
The sad fact is that many Rs like his "style". And they don't know he's lying. It's up to the free press and te Dems to point it out.
I couldn't watch the speech in full. But I was able to last long enough to hear him lie about bringing grocery prices down, having sky high poll numbers, China not using wind energy, and there were probably many more. And to me at least, that still matters.
I have always believed that every time a Dem is asked about trump, they should preface their reaction with something like, "I don't know what to say about that, because he is always lying. Who knows if that's true?" Really drill it in. The fact that the POTUS can't be trusted is, or should be, everything.
As I was saying.....
I just watching Peter White, an entertainment reporter on MSNBC, and he had a great idea for Jimmy Kimmel's return tonight. He reminded the viewers that Jack Paar was once suspended for a risque joke he told in the sixties.
When he came back after his suspension, he began his monologue with "As I was saying...."
Great idea! No apologies, not back and forth, no change of tone. Just okay, I'm back and I will continue as I have been. Humble boasting in a way. Because in spite of efforts to spin this, make no mistake. WE WON THIS ONE! 
HMP is on the job!
Just saw a great ad about Prop. 50, the California redistricting proposition. At the end, the groups that funded the ad were listed: California Teachers Association, the Gavin Newsom campaign, and HMP.
What is HMP you may ask? I googled it and found out that it is the House Majority Pac, a super pac to elect Democrats!

Howard Dean on Ari right now applying the lesson learned from Kimmel to the possible govt shutdown
Everyone on the show including Ari seems to agree that it was the grassroots and public pressure that got Kimmel back on the air. It was a very positive opening. Howard Dean took it a step further and said the Dem leadership should apply this lesson to the fight with Rs over funding the govt.
He said this time the Dems should refuse to support any budget unless they get concessions. If you fight back it works. I agree!

I don't know if it was because he's Canadian, but he had no effs to give. Angry, passionate, basically calling on Americans to save their Democracy and to wake up. He can still play. And he can still sing. And he is still fearless.
