In a very conservative Boston newspaper, the Herald, there is a report of a joint venture between Bannon and Harvey Weinstein.
With all the Democratic bashing on Breitbart, it's surprising that good old Steve left this little tidbit out.
<snip>WASHINGTON The multiplying tentacles of the Harvey Weinstein sex abuse scandal have touched a former president, a former presidential candidate and now a former presidential adviser.
Steve Bannon, the former Trump White House chief strategist and current head of Breitbart News, is the latest politico touched by the scandal. Bannon, whose website has hammered Democrats for accepting Weinstein's political donations, himself profited from a relationship with the movie mogul, in an ill-fated joint venture more than a decade ago.<snip>
<snip>"We are extremely honored to be in business with the new Weinstein Company," Bannon told investors in one such call, declaring that "the Weinsteins have the most impressive track record in the film industry" and that "Bob and Harvey are two of the most prolific studio heads in the history of Hollywood."
Ultimately, Genius Products ended up in bankruptcy in 2011, but not before Bannon reported substantial revenues from the venture. His company Bannon Strategic Advisers had a consulting agreement worth $500,000 with Genius Products in 2006, and he was awarded bonuses of more than $200,000, according to SEC filings. Bannon also was awarded stock options in 2005 that were valued at well over $1 million at the time.<snip>

Has Anyone Else Noticed the Huge Drop in Trump's Numbers in the Past Few Days?
In the past 5 days or so, the combined numbers for the Moron in Chief have gone from a net minus 14.1 to a net minus 19.2 in 538's combined polling. That includes the Rasmussen, Trump leaning poll that has the Moron at 43%.
I think that Trump fatigue is setting in and that Republicans who at least "think" they're sane and moving away from him.
In addition, many rural Americans are not seeing the changes Trump promised and are starting to realize they were conned. Not all of them, yet, but his strength, even in these demographics, is starting to wane.

Trump's Threat Against the NFL is Unconstitutional, IMO
The Moron in Chief tweeted today that the NFL should be punished through changes in the tax code because of the expression on the field by its players.
The first amendment allows freedom of expression without government interference. I know that any employer can discipline or discharge an employee for such actions, but they can also allow such actions. If if there is a rule or policy, it's up to the employer to enforce that rule or allow it to "atrophy", if it so chooses. For instance, an employer can have a dress code in a union contract that prohibits the wearing of blue jeans. It can then allow blue jeans by not enforcing the rule. It cannot, then, punish one employee, but not another, unless it notifies all employees that it will now start enforcing the rule. I don't think Jerry jones can punish his players for kneeling, but 49ers are free to kneel. The NFLPA may say that that's "unequal treatment" under their CBA. But I digress.
here is the legal opinion from Cornell University.

First Amendment: An Overview
<snip. The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression from government interference. It prohibits any laws that establish a national religion, impede the free exercise of religion, abridge the freedom of speech, infringe upon the freedom of the press, interfere with the right to peaceably assemble, or prohibit citizens from petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances. It was adopted into the Bill of Rights in 1791. The Supreme Court interprets the extent of the protection afforded to these rights. The First Amendment has been interpreted by the Court as applying to the entire federal government even though it is only expressly applicable to Congress. Furthermore, the Court has interpreted the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment as protecting these rights<snip>
Trump's Inner Ciricle Keeps Sniping at Each Other. This time, It's His Wives
The Moron in Chief has another dispute on his hands between those closest to him. Ivana, Trump's first wife and Melania, Trump's third wife are fighting over who really should be called the first lady. In addition, wife number 1 says she calls to talk to the golden moron once, about every two weeks. Everyone suspects Marla, wife number 2, was the person who mailed Trump's tax return to Rachel Maddow last year.
This is really turning into a reality show.
<snip>First lady Melania Trump's office fired back at President Trump's ex-wife Ivana on Monday after she boasted of her access to the White House and even referred to herself as the real "first lady."
In an interview with Good Morning America to promote her new book Raising Trump, Ivana Trump said she and the president speak about once every 14 days.
I have the direct number to White House, but I no really want to call him there because Melania is there, she said. I dont want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because Im basically first Trump wife.
She added with a laugh: Im first lady, okay?
But Melania Trumps office said there is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex.<snip>

What the Fuck was Dove Soap Trying to Convey with this Ad?
I'm a 65 year old white guy. I've used the Dove soap product for 20 years, since it was recommended to me by my doctor for a minor rash on my arms. I've continued to use it because it works.
But what the fuck was their advertising trying to prove with this insensitive, offensive and racist ad?
I'm sure there are now comparable products that can replace Dove as my soap, and I will be exploring them. For a fucking company to be this stupid in marketing, there must be some penalty to pay from its customers.
<snip>The ire-inducing advertisement a static compilation of four photos was released Saturday. The first frame showed a dark-skinned woman in what appeared to be a bathroom, a bottle of Dove body wash in the lower right-hand corner of the picture.
In subsequent frames, the woman reaches down and lifts up her shirt (and apparently the rest of her skin/costume) to reveal a smiling white woman.<snip>

The Moron's Approval Numbers are in the Tank, but What About the Electoral College?
538 does a nice breakdown of Trump's popularity in the state by state ratings.
Of course I know the dangers of a generic ballot and an election more than 3 years away. But these numbers are quite interesting.
If the Democrat can win all the states in which Trump is under water, the EC count would be a whopping 423 to 115.
So, the moron's numbers are not just down nationally, but they reflect a substantial drop in many important states.

The awarding of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize to the International Campaign Against Nuclear Weapons was widely interpreted as a signal to the Donald Trump administration, despite the Norwegian Nobel Committee chairwoman insisting that were not kicking anyone in the legs. ICANs executive director, Beatrice Fihn, was less subtle two days earlier on Twitter:
Unlike other people who may have recently called Trump a moron, theres not much ambiguity there!<snip>
