Covidiots are worried about forced vaccinations

I've seen this opinion in my Facebook feed several times with Covidiot wringing their hands with worry about mandatory vaccines.

This is my response:

This is just one opinion. It's not gonna happen. What will happen is that schools, doctors and businesses will refuse to allow people who aren't vaccinated to come in their doors. You don't like it, homeschool your kids, don't go to that business, find another doctor.

If everyone voted by mail and it took a few extra days or even a week or two, why would that be so horrible? The president doesn't take office until January 20th.

I am getting sick of Trump commercials

But I suppose it's a good thing that the Trump campaign feels they have to spend money to buy ads in Texas. One of them says "Biden's slipping " and then show a bunch of clips of Biden sounding incoherent.

The other one talks about factories closing, shows Biden saying China is not the problem and then say, no Joe Biden is the problem.

Has anyone seen these? I'm guessing they are heavily edited and taken out of context.

Additionally: He's not running ads on the Spanish channels. I guess he's totally written off the Hispanic vote.

Hey there was even a protest in my small hometown of Victoria, Texas

Quenten White stood outside of the Victoria Police Department at 8 a.m. Monday by himself.

In the rain, White held up a sign that read “All Lives Matter When Black Lives Matter” and demanded justice for George Floyd, a black man who died on May 25 while a white Minneapolis police officer used his knee to pin his neck to the pavement for several minutes.

About 20 people protested Floyd’s death on Friday along Navarro Street and a group of 25 people protested at DeLeon Plaza on Monday.

They were peaceful and at no time posed a risk to public safety, Chief J.J. Craig, of the Victoria Police Department, said in an email.

Craig fully respects the right to peacefully assemble and address grievances, he said, but “strongly condemns” acts of violence from those who are rioting and posing public safety risks.

He called the death of Gorge Floyd “tragic” and said he was disturbed to hear about the actions of officers involved.


“Their actions are contrary to the oath, we as law enforcement officers, have all taken to protect and serve the community,” he said. “It is unfortunate that this poor policing action overshadows the courageous and professional work done by our nation’s law enforcement.”

Snarky right wing video that one of my high school acquaintances posted on my Facebook feed

There are a lot of reasons that someone would wear their mask in the car. It is possible that some are "virtue signaling" but it could be that you forgot to take it off, you just went to one store and are going to another and don't want to go to the hassle of taking it on and off. You are about to pick someone up that you feel you need to social distance from. You don't want to touch your face or the front of the mask, etc. It is awfully judgmental of someone to assume you are "virtue signaling" because you are wearing a mask in a place where they don't think it's necessary.

My strategy

I live in Houston and have started going to restaurants again but I have a strategy.

1. I only go to lunch after 1:30. I haven't gone to dinner but if I did it would be after 7pm.
2. I don't go to a particular restaurant if it seems busy
3. I wear my mask in.
4. I bring Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer
5. I make sure I sit at least 10-12 feet away from anyone. I sit outside if possible
6. I wipe my table and sanitize my hands
7. I hurry up and leave if it starts to get crowded.
8. I sanitize my hands when I leave.

I think this strategy is fairly safe. Plus, although I can't verify it (couldn't get tested) , I think I may have had a very mild case in March.
