NEWS - Mnuchin has agreed to “significant oversight” over $500B “Exchange Stabilization Fund,” per 3 sources. This is a major issue for Democrats, who called it a “$500 billion slush fund” with no accountability.

John Bresnahan

/2 Schumer also said the Democrats’ “Marshall Plan for hospitals” is “very, very strongly in the bill.” Democrats had been pushing for hundreds of billions more for hospitals & health-care providers.

And Gov Ron lamented yesterday about the number of people flying in from the NY area. And today enacted a 14-day self-isolation request for anyone coming in that has a fever. A request that is 100% unenforceable

If only, as a Governor, there were something he could do...

INDIANA: 2nd GOP Governor issues Stay At Home order - 12 states total now

https://patch.com/indiana/indianapolis/coronavirus-indiana-governor-issues-stay-home-order
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Governor Eric Holcomb announced in a Monday afternoon press conference a Stay-At-Home Order for Indiana, taking effect 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, through Monday, April 6, but could be extended if the coronavirus pandemic warrants it. According to state officials, this orders Hoosiers to remain in their homes except when they are at work or for permitted activities, such as taking care of others, obtaining necessary supplies, and for health and safety. This comes as the state's number of the coronavirus cases hit 259 as of Sunday, in addition to 7 deaths, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.

Easy way to explain why corporations do NOT need a bailout

A corporation is NOT a person. It's certainly not a family. It's an entity that holds assets and uses labor to produce a good or provide a service.

If all of that labor goes away, the corporation will cease to exist.

If the corporation cannot sell its product or services, it will cut back on labor. If it cuts back enough, its value on the market, aka stock price, will fall accordingly. It will fall to the point where some other group or corporation will be willing to buy what's left and, after the medical crisis passes, start rebuilding the corporation and producing product or providing services.

Bailing out a corporation will NOT save jobs as it will not create demand for its products or services...it only saves the owners (stockholders). Bailing out corporations flies in the face of capitalism, esp. the conservative view of it as it is today.

Bailing out Americans allows them to actually LIVE (to buy food, medicine, keep their home, etc)

Sen Hoeven (R-ND) LYING now...saying Democrats are objecting to rural america

NO! They're objecting to the $500 billion blank check for Mnuchin w/no oversight!

Just imagine Donald Trump in the Oval Office facing a real crisis. We can’t afford that kind of risk.
