Trump's moving people carrying out bust of Lincoln which *might* be federal property

If this is federal property and *assumedly* Trump has no right to take it, he is subject to theft laws, to me.

Two gigantic Republican "big lies": the election was stolen, and, Democrats are radical left

1- Stolen election: No need to discuss this. We all know that is a gigantic "big lie".

2- Democrats are radical left: For years, I have heard Republicans routinely say that Democrats are "radical left". That is their go-to slur when all else fails. The FauxNews crowd buys that bullshit. To me, "radical left" is code for Communist and also, to the white supremacist-leaning viewers", people sympathetic to the concerns of people of color.

The Democratic party and, more importantly, the nation cannot allow these two "big lies" to continue to affect our political discourse. I think the reason is really obvious. If those "big lies" stand, we will see more political violence, more right wing extremism, and probably another psychopath elected President, who is more intelligent and skilled at political and bureaucratic manipulation of the government.

I know Trump bears much more resemblance to Mussolini than Hitler. However, Hitler came to power on the back of many "big lies", namely the "stab in the back" myth about how the German Army was stabbed in the back by German politicians, Jews and Communists. Of course, Hitler sowed many other "big lies", the most dangerous of which were about Jews.

We, the American people, need to mount a full-throated frontal attack on these "big lies" and on Faux News and other RW outlets until they stop broadcasting them. Impossible perhaps, but at least we need to make the effort.

"McConnell told others he was enraged with Trump and planned to never speak to him again"

“Although the Vice President and I were not together during the evacuation, he personally got very involved and stayed in close contact with me as we worked to secure urgently needed resources to thwart the mob and I appreciate those efforts greatly,” McConnell said in a statement to The Washington Post. McConnell told others he was enraged with Trump and planned to never speak to him again.

U.S. Capitol Police on Sunday announced the death of an off-duty officer. No cause or date of death was released.

Police identified the officer as Howard Liebengood, 51, and said he was assigned to the Senate Division. He had been with the department since April 2005.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and colleagues,” reads a statement from the Capitol Police. “We ask that his family, and other USCP officers’ and their families’ privacy be respected during this profoundly difficult time.”
