Entering is easy, if you win the grand prize is that you get to run the next contest, which would be the contest for May. If you wind and don't have a star you need to get one then, so you can post polls.
If you have questions don't ask them in the submission thread, go to the link in the submission thread that takes you to the thread of comments and questions.
You could carry your camera with you for the next 10 days, something may run across your path now that you have opened your mind to Whimsy, Fancy, or Oddity.

First time posting in this forum - it's about home made dog food
My friends, you've not seen me here, but maybe elsewhere (photography is my main hangout)
Rather than dig through and search it's a lot easier for me to ask if there is anyone here who cooks for their dog?
The post about the rubber contaminated cat food prompted it.
I've been cooking for my 2 year old Jack Russell dog for about 6 months or more. I add supplements by Dinovite Company. My dog is thriving, and the vet is approving. I just wonder who else is doing this? I make up food in a concentrated streamlined way - it takes about 3 hours - and then I have 2 months worth of food. The cost is tolerable. The dog is happy.
Thoughts?

It's Sunday the 7th, and we are doing very well. I'm now accepting 2nd entries, and we have one week to find more whimsical, fanciful or odd vistas to share.

The THEME for the April PHOTO Contest is:WHIMSICAL, FANCIFUL or ODD
That means anything that strikes your personal fancy along those lines. I’m thinking we might look for the funny, the different, the wildly elaborate = it’s all up to you.
The winner of the contest will agree to host the May photo contest or recruit a substitute. Any person hosting needs a star to post polls. So if you submit, and win, you must get a star.
Color or B&W are acceptable. Considering the theme I will allow any editing for cropping, color correction, saturation and exposure.

Contest Rules
One entry per photographer, unless I open it up to a second entry which I will make clear to all of you in a separate post along the way. These can be new photos, or from your archives, but they cannot have already been entered in one of our contests before.
You need to post your entry in this submission thread. Be sure to include a "Title" for your photograph in the Subject line of your post. As already indicated the submission thread is for photo entries only, no comments, no questions. I will start a separate thread just for comments and questions.
Please check the sizing on your photo before submitting it: longest side no more than 1024 px and file size < 675K If you need help posting a photograph or with image sizing, ask and I'll try to fix it.
The Submission & Comment threads will be posted in the Photography Group, and there will be links in GD and THE LOUNGE to help fill the slots. The Preliminary polls and Final Contest poll will be posted in GD per Skinner’s permission.

WHIMSICAL, FANCIFUL, OR ODD
"talking amongst ourselves" the vote was 9 to one in favor of accepting this theme. There is no limit to your imagination, this should not be difficult at all as a theme, all I think is needed is to keep the camera handy and a little quirky look at your surroundings.
Yesterday I almost had a little collision with the curb I screeched to such a quick halt to take a photo of this vision in a local park.
I will open submission and comment threads in a few days. This being April 1 you guys might think I'm foolin' if I do it today.
Get happy, start smiling, and look for the weird in your environment.

In just a few days we'll start April / fool's day is around the corner. I went this morning to photograph a house a friend is rehabbing. The first photo shows the basement straight on, the second shows what I saw to my very left as I turned to leave.
I would like to propose as a theme for April
WHIMSICAL, FANCIFUL, or ODD
I'm not married to the idea, it just came to me when I looked at the photos and the thought of April fool's day came to mind.
Here I 'm making a post for folks who tell me they like the idea and would create or find a photo in their archives.
If not - tell me your own idea and maybe we get enough to run a communal poll.
It's early yet.
