A persuasive case for Tammy Duckworth for VP

Whatever his wobbles, Joe Biden has, from the start of his presidential campaign, got one thing exactly right: The 2020 election is a battle for the soul of America. That’s not just a pretty slogan. It’s the stomach-knotting truth — and it’s the frame he should use for choosing his running mate. It’s why he should pick Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois.

She’s a paragon of the values that Donald Trump, for all his practice as a performer, can’t even pantomime. She’s best described by words that are musty relics in his venal and vainglorious circle: “sacrifice,” “honor,” “humility.” More than any of the many extraordinary women on Biden’s list of potential vice-presidential nominees, she’s the anti-Trump, the antidote to the ugliness he revels in and the cynicism he stokes.

Americans can feel good — no, wonderful — about voting for a ticket with Duckworth on it. And we’re beyond hungry for that. We’re starving.

That ache transcends all of the other variables that attend Biden’s deliberations as he appraises Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Val Demings and others: race, age, experience, exact position on the spectrum from progressive to moderate.

But the Trump administration is slated to discontinue funding for 13 federal testing sites across five states, starting at the end of June, Talking Points Memo revealed on Tuesday.

This move comes following President Donald Trump's comments last week at a roundtable for seniors in which he argued that "if we stop testing right now, we'd have very few cases, actually."

You ok Malaise???

KINGSTON/HAVANA (Reuters) - A massive plume of Saharan dust has shrouded swathes of the Caribbean, turning blue skies into a milky-brown haze and sparking health warnings across the region as air quality fell to unhealthy levels.

Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, usually a prominent sight towering over Kingston, were hidden behind an oppressive white cloud.

At this particular moment in history... If we want a total landslide

A landslide that would be extremely difficult for President Dipshit to contest...Biden would pick Cuomo as VP. I know, he's a male.

We will win anyway, but think people are subconsciously yearning for a COVID expert/manager type with a liberal heart who cares about everyone and social equality and justice. At this moment in history!

Flame away

Protest in Tulsa plays RIGHT into the mad-maniplular's

(tiny) hands. Their big news... "horrible. horrible" people outside."

I have never seen a more masterful but sinister display of spin, ever. Just like the Netflix documentary chronicled in NYC, he is the master at personal PR.

IMHO, if you want to be honest, we are in for a huge uphill climb here. How do you fight against utter unabashed lies and spin and mistruths?

Say everything is great, but if you pull away, and think big picture, unless someone hires some brilliant ad men and psychiatrists and media savvy and great strategists, we are in for 4 more horrible years.

ATHENS, Ga. — At least four nurses at a critical care hospital in Athens have accused the facility of creating a scheme to falsify COVID-19 test results.

In court documents filed this week, the nurses claimed Landmark Hospital in Athens intentionally manipulated test results to cover up an outbreak at the facility.

One former and one current Landmark nurse agreed to tell 11Alive how the hospital allegedly does it. Both agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation.

“When they had someone who would turn out positive, they would re-do the test so that it would come back negative and they would say that it was a false positive,” explained one of the nurses
