Any restaurant foodies from DC here?

Spending one night in DC in June. Since we currently live in a food desert in central TX, so looking forward to a great dinner in DC.

But been overwhelmed with all the options of dozens and dozens of places.

Any recommendations? Been looking at pre-fixe and Michelin options. We're pretty adventurous but not to the point of not even recognizing anything on menu Favorites.. farm-to-table, seafood, steak, Cajun, Italian seafood..

Wow, pretty heavy. Jill Biden once said Kamala Harris could go "go fuck yourself?"

After debate.

Evidently NOT denied by WH office. But good news...they decided to move way beyond the episode. Obviously if Joe picked Kamala! Bygones we all understood.

Still pretty fascinating to me how people can just get over stuff in the political world.

Cliches in film you are sick of?

Chief of police always a wise black guy. Never a white jerk.

Teenagers that constantly disrespect and dismiss their parents. Slam bedroom door on them.

Mother who's got some important job literally running around in a kitchen with an island eating a piece of toast trying to make breakfast for everyone.

Borgen, Borgen, Borgen! Absolutely the best drama I have

seen in many years. One episode left to watch (saving). Season 4 out 2022. Danish series ( 3 seasons) English dub.

We have talked of it here but need to reiterate

About Denmark's government, politics, culture, media, policies, mixed with sex and human relationships. If that sounds good, check it out.

IMHO.. 10 out if 10

trump's biggest crime against humanity, why isn't it a big deal?

Early on, he purposely hid the fact that the virus was deadly and airborne.

He admitted this to Woodward on tape! Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people died because they weren't sufficiently warned.

Can "get over" all but this.

Nicest spring since moving to TX in 1997. Mild not hot. Few mosquitoes.

Lots of rain. Everything green. Vegetable and herb plants loving it too.

Early nice parts of dead end climate change?

Inventive budget meals your mom used to make?

Memories of how something used to taste so good yet be so simple. Can still remember the smell and taste.

Powerful mix, love and food!

One of mine... Hot dogs ( always cut on an angle with onions and peppers, a can of Hunts tomato sauce over rice. Bet the whole thing costed under $3 for family of 6.

Is Gun Control, Voting Rights, and Police Reform legislation all languishing?

Thought it'd be simple to get a quick status on these three topics that mean SO much to us: Gun Control, Voting Rights, & Police Reform. All murky at best, nothing sounded promising.

Evidently we don't have the votes in the Senate to pass anything. Has it always been like that and I just didn't notice? That if the votes aren't there the bills are not introduced, debated and voted on? Nothing done that I could find in Senate on:

HR 8 Expand Background check cases

HR 1446 Extend Background check review period from 3 to 10 days ( Charleston Loophole)

HR 7120 George Floyd Justice in Policing Act holding law enforcement accountable for misconduct.

HR 1 For the People Act expanding access to the ballot box & reduce influence of big money in politics.
