hootinholler's JournalThe DNC is effectively another shell company for her highness
The numbers are filed and it appears that what she and her accomplice have been doing is essentially laundering money. I don't know if there's a federal statute, but it seems to me that this is basically what put Tom Delay in the Texas pokey for a long vacation.
Bernie's lawyer lays it out here. PDF
The staff thing is an old shell company trick. You own company A that provides a service to your company B. They do it to skirt income tax because company A pays you a big salary and operates at a loss. In this case it's being done to skirt campaign laws.
Another Domino falls...
My apologies, this showed up on my FB page and I didn't check the date. This is from January.
S.C. Rep. Bamberg to switch endorsement from Clinton to Sanders
South Carolina state Rep. Justin T. Bamberg the lawyer for the family of Walter Scott, who was killed by a police officer last April endorsed Bernie Sanders Monday, after initially throwing his support behind Hillary Clinton in December.
in a press conference Bamberg said until now he had not given Sanders "his fair shake but he now fully supports the Vermont senator.
"Bernie represents bold new leadership and is not afraid to challenge the status quo," Bamberg said. The state representative also addressed criticism Sanders has received about his goals being unattainable.
"We live in the greatest country on earth we put man on the moon, dont tell me that we cannot provide Americans the right, the right to health care because that right is a matter of life and death for many Americans," Bamberg said. He added Sanders was also capable of accomplishing free higher education and creating a change in the political system.

On Smoke and Fire
Whilst I can't claim to know his biography, James Comey has always struck me as a stand up guy. I seriously doubt he would be consuming the resources devoted to the investigation of the information contained on the server that was wiped, apparently "like, with a cloth", without there being some serious hotspots.
Humor me for a moment and consider a hypothetical arsonist hired to burn down a competitor's meth lab. (Yes, I went Breaking Bad, get over it) The fire investigator would refer the meth lab to the apropos jurisdiction for investigation.
So Mr Comey was handed a referral in July of 2015:
Contrary to popular claims here, this investigation is not the result of the Benghazi fishing expedition, which of course happened. It also was not a criminal referral:
The recent news is there are just shy of 150 Agents working this investigation. The thing is, that even with 30K emails you don't need Agents to review them for security, that work can be done by analysts. I think that the reason for that is that there are that many people to be interviewed about evidence contained in the emails themselves. I seriously doubt that it takes that many Agents to run down the provenance of mishandled secrets.
Now it could still be that they are only looking at the provenance of those emails, and simply trying to get it wrapped up before the convention, but I suspect the email cache contained evidence of some other activity that needs to be run to ground as well.
What that might be? Time will tell, but I hope this all is shaken out before the convention.
What's more rare than a landslide?
What's that on the horizon?
Over there, out to sea, what is that? I've not seen it before, but it would explain all the water draining from the beaches.
I think today we will get our first measurements of the rarest of all events:
A BERNAMI!
I doubt it will be:
Rather more like:
But that's like, just my opinion Man.
My most sincere thanks to Camp Weathervane!
The recent use of unicorns in describing the desires of BernieBros got me to googling unicorns.
I really appreciate the prompting, because it led me to an essay Called The Lion and The Unicorn written by none other than George Orwell whilst German bombs rained upon London.
It explores Socialism, Capitalism, Fascism and the stratification of society while presenting the argument that it can only be fixed by a political revolution. I saw more than a few parallels to our current struggles, our own revolution.
It bade me to question if we have yet reached our own tipping point in America and left me hopeful that we have.
So sincerely, thanks for the serendipity.
Hillary's New Children Ad Sure Pulls On My Heartstrings!
It really does. It brings to mind the rough times my sister had while raising my niece and nephew and all the help she got.
It reminds me that in order to qualify for her Pell grants which helped her to get her BS in Nursing, she had to remain on public assistance. It reminds me of the state pushing her to abandon school and a potential career to accept the bartender's and waitress' wages to get off the public dole.
It reminds me of the state confiscating child support payments in order to 'recoup' what they paid to her in benefits, except the child support they took was more than what was paid to her in benefits. That was all made possible by the Welfare reform that Hillary advocated to help my sister move into a more dignified life and help families or some such.
It reminds me that the nation almost lost a skilled ER nurse who was there when the ambulances arrived with heart attack patients, trauma patients, sick babies and the families worried sick that the treatment might not work, worried sick about how the bills would be paid.
Most of all, it reminds me that it matters whom we nominate. Their judgement matters. Their priorities matter.
It reminds me that I need someone who is actually on my side in the White House. Now more than ever, it matters.
Hillary's Campaign likes their Iowans Shaken
I wonder if this will end up stirring them? With friends like that...
There's Something Happening Here
