Former UKIP candidate and boxing manager comes out as transgender

The former Frank Maloney, who as a UKIP candidate for Parliament spoke against marriage equality, has announced she is Kellie Maloney. She worked for years as manager for boxer Lennox Lewis. Kellie says she would have come out sooner, but she had fears as to how her transition would have been received in the boxing world.

Cagney and Lacey, "The City is Burning"

I had to watch it for school. Would have watched it anyway. It was a highly controversial episode with very graphic language, including racist terms, as everybody fought over a crime that provoked racial tensions in the city. It was based on the real-life Howard Beach incident.

"Tampa heiress gives rejected dog new home, life of luxury"

Helen Rich, heiress of Wrigley Gum, saw the story of lost dog Lady, who walked 30 miles home only to have her family send her to a shelter, and wanted to make a change. Rich was in Hawaii at the time, and called her assistant at her home in Odessa, near Tampa, Florida.

So, the assistant made some calls and then boarded the private jet to go to an animal shelter and get the dog.

"Lady" is an aging Labrador who now has the run of Rich's 127 acre farm in northern Hillsborough County.
