Nicolle Wallace's advice to Republicans: 'This is your moment to get off of the Titanic, folks'

https://www.rawstory.com/2019/02/nicolle-wallaces-advice-republicans-moment-get-off-titanic-folks/

“This seems to me to be the off-ramp for anybody in the right-wing propaganda operation that says, ‘I’ve done enough. I’ve gone along with the lunacy around the wall. Now he’s doing something authoritarian in nature, usurping the power of Congress. I’ve done enough for this guy,'” Wallace said.

Trump has now managed to take lifelong Republicans and flipped what their ideology is all together. Meanwhile, former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe is accused of all sorts of lies. She noted if anyone else had done what McCabe was accused of doing, the conversations about “treason” would be everywhere.

“Now [Trump is] taking a lifelong Republican [McCabe], who if he had done any of the things Donald Trump accused him of doing, he would have been treated differently,” Wallace continued. “He’s out of work because he’s allegedly lied to the inspector general, not because of any of thinks conduct around the Russia question or Russia investigation. This seems to me if there’s anybody left with a conscience in the right-wing propaganda operation, this is your moment to get off the Titanic folks.”

Just on CNN: There is no Republican party. THere is just the Trump party. And they are going to

fall in line behind this, like they always do. Jeffrey Toobin on CNN.

Good to see them call it like it is.

Lots more at link. Besides being heartwarming, these are also stunningly beautiful photos.

"We are not elected to get re-elected. We are elected to govern and use our best judgment."

Heidi Heitkamp on Lawrence when he asked her how she felt now about her Kavanaugh vote, knowing it may well have cost her re-election. She said she has never regretted it. Also said something about history looking kindly on that vote, as well as her vote against the tax bill, even though it may not have been popular in her state.

"We were never going to find a contract signed in blood saying, 'Hey Vlad, we're going to collude'"

REgarding Senate Intel investigation:

On Tuesday, Burr doubled down, telling NBC News, "There is no factual evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia."

Sen. Mark Warner, D.-Va., ranking member of the committee, told reporters in the Capitol Tuesday that he disagrees with the way Burr characterized the evidence about collusion, but he declined to offer his own assessment.

"I'm not going to get into any conclusions I have," he said, before adding that "there's never been a campaign in American history ... that people affiliated with the campaign had as many ties with Russia as the Trump campaign did."

Democratic Senate investigators who spoke to NBC News on condition of anonymity did not dispute Burr's characterizations, but said they lacked context.

"We were never going to find a contract signed in blood saying, 'Hey Vlad, we're going to collude,'" one Democratic aide said.

The series of contacts between Trump's associates, his campaign officials, his children and various Russians suggest a campaign willing to accept help from a foreign adversary, the Democrats say.

Photos to make you say "Aww.." and lift your spirits, because don't you need it?

So I periodically like to post something to bring a smile as a morale boost in the midst of all the other stuff, because we need it!

Rachel on AMI - OMG this is huge. The Bezos thing violates the non-prosecution agreement

AMI had in exchange for the info about Stormy and what's her name, the Playboy woman, last year. I think the non-prosecution agreement was with SDNY. Rachel said the agreement stood on AMI being squeaky clean for three years.

When are pundits gonna stop trying to make sense out of the nonsensical, irrational

things he says and does? After his speech, Rachel, Brian, Tweety, etc. all asking "Why did he say this? What did he mean by that? That didn't make any sense."
Analyzing what he says and does to try to figure it out; attempting to apply logic. Even the really smart ones like Rachel and Lawrence fall into that trap.

You can't make sense of out what stable geniuses say. It is crazy to apply reason and logic to what crazy people do and say. Because there is nothing logical or reasonable about it.

Sully on Lawrence talking about continuing effects of shutdown on aviation industry.

Will take a while to recover. May not fully recover. Air traffic controllers may just decide to retire early.
Lots of repairs went undone and will take a while to catch up so safety still compromised.
Talking about leadership and how it requires empathy.
