My 2 cents on Rod Rosenstein, Trump, Russia, and the Mueller Report. It was all kabuki.

So Rosenstein limited Mueller's investigation into Trump having criminal conduct in his
workings with Russia during the 2016 election but at the same time Mueller could not do a
criminal investigation* into Trump because of some bogus DoJ doctrine (not a law) that
a sitting President could not be criminally indicted and so the whole thing was kabuki.

BTW I was taken in by Rod Rosenstein's bullshit too. I saw an interview with him when he
spoke about the rule of law not the rule of politics and look at this big portrait of a former
AG who stood up to FDR even though FDR had appointed him because he believed in the rule
of law not the rule of politics. All the time he was helping give Trump & co. cover for their part
in the biggest series of crimes in US history. AKA working with a hostile foreign power to
undermine our democracy.

"But law enforcement officials never fully investigated Mr. Trump’s own relationship with Russia, even though some career F.B.I. counterintelligence investigators thought his ties posed such a national security threat that they took the extraordinary step of opening an inquiry into them. Within days, the former deputy attorney general Rod J. Rosenstein curtailed the investigation without telling the bureau, all but ensuring it would go nowhere."

* BTW Trump, Don Jr, Manafort, Stone, Cohen and so on all lied to the Muller/FBI about
Trump Campaign/Russia

Rand Paul claims he was 'attacked by an angry mob' leaving White House. Problem is, there's video

"Rand Paul trying to draw attention to himself by intentionally walking into a protest ... " And his wife
is out in front of him getting through the crowd too.

Daily Kos: Rand Paul claims he was 'attacked by an angry mob' leaving White House. Problem is, there's video

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/8/28/1973012/-Rand-Paul-claims-he-was-attacked-by-an-angry-mob-leaving-White-House-Problem-is-there-s-video?detail=emaildkre

After leaving Donald Trump’s big illegal speech, Sen. Rand Paul did a personal test run of the Republican National Convention’s message that chaos and violence reigns in cities under Democratic leadership and would spread under a Joe Biden presidency. And, like the message as a whole, Paul’s claim was visibly false.

“Just got attacked by an angry mob of over 100, one block away from the White House. Thank you to @DCPoliceDept for literally saving our lives from a crazed mob,” Paul tweeted. Problem being, there’s video, and it doesn’t show what he says.

In the video, protesters surround Paul and his wife as they’re escorted by police. Some “say her name” chants are audible, and a little jostling is visible, with one police officer at one point shoved backward into Paul. But that’s it. That’s the “angry,” “crazed mob.” Rand Paul has faced a helluva lot more violence from his own neighbor.

Republicans, of course, are eager to embrace any protest for Black lives or against Donald Trump as inherently violent, just as they’re increasingly eager to embrace murderers if those murderers are Trump supporters. The message is that the United States is a terrible, broken place, and what we need is four more years of Trump to crack down on those who dare to resist. But this is what it looks like: Rand Paul trying to draw attention to himself by intentionally walking into a protest he had to know was there, and walking out without violence or injury, but claiming that the police were required to “literally sav[e] our lives from a crazed mob.”

********

Congrats to all DUers who called bullshit on Rand Paul's tweet this AM.

Trump said he had never seen Sarah Cooper's "act."

Donald Trump was finally asked about Sarah Cooper's viral impersonations of him

In a preview of a Fox News interview that will air Sunday at 9 pm ET, host Steve Hilton asked Trump if he had seen Cooper's parody.

"I have not, no," Trump said, blank-faced. "I'd like to see them. Are they good or bad?"
ear.

The pandemic might have lowered emissions, but it’ll take more than this temporary fix to have a lasting impact.
Hilton told Trump he thought the president would find them very entertaining.

"OK, good! I'd like to see them," Trump said. "If you're saying they're positive, I'd like to look. If they're not positive...."
Hilton acknowledged that Cooper "doesn't mean it to be positive."

"I see," Trump said. "Well, I'll have to check it out."

Why did Trump/Melania redo the White House Rose Garden (Jackie Kennedy's)?

They did it just to be pricks. Because nothing tastes sweeter than a liberal's tears and to gas light
America by changing the news cycle. They know that not unless they have massive fraud,
Russian help, and they block mail in voting they are going to lose so why do it now as they are just
about "out the door?" They did it just to be pricks. Outside of the flagstone pavers to allow people with
disabilities access they did not need to do it. I think the crab trees that were removed were not
the ones that Jackie Kennedy had planted because they were smaller then the ones I saw in a
picture of the garden in 1988. I believe that during Melanie's "make over" they removed a number
of roses that date back over 100 years (those roses might not be the original ones but the White House
hort. staff may have propagated the original ones to keep the line going). The crab trees not only
gave a verticle element to the garden but added to the sun vs shadow play under the colonnade.
Especially in the late fall, winter, and early spring.

Outside of the low quality of the design and the work itself doing this now pisses me off because they did it JUST TO BE PRICKS.

BTW even though this is my field the rose garden is nowhere near as important as the >1,000 Americans
per day that are dying from C-19.

Isn't the current speaker, Jack Brewer, in a shitload of trouble?

Standing up against the KKK? You mean like Donny's dad?

Time to turn this crap off.

RNC Speaker Facing Federal Charges Of Insider Trading

https://www.npr.org/2020/08/25/905953942/rnc-speaker-facing-federal-charges-of-insider-trading

Jack Brewer, a member of Black Voices for Trump who is scheduled to speak at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, was charged with insider trading by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) earlier this month.

Brewer is a former National Football League player, who went on to work in financial services. The SEC alleges he sold 100,000 shares in a penny stock, because he had inside information that the company's share price was likely to drop. The charges, filed August 6, are civil - not criminal. The SEC is seeking financial penalties, a return of "all ill-gotten gains he received directly or indirectly," and a permanent ban on Brewer "from participating in any offering of a penny stock."

Reached briefly by phone on Tuesday, Brewer said, "I'm taking off for my flight," and hung up after NPR asked about the case. He did not respond to additional phone and email messages seeking comment.

Brewer has become a prominent supporter of President Trump's reelection, making frequent appearances on Fox News, and tweeting that "Trump has done more for blacks than any [President] since Lincoln." At a White House event in February, Brewer called Trump, "the first Black President."

Father says Black Wisconsin man shot by police is paralyzed

Source: AP

The father of a Black man who was shot, apparently in the back, by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, says his son was left paralyzed from the waist down.

Jacob Blake's father told ABC News that he was told his son was shot eight times during the Sunday evening confrontation with police, which was captured on cellphone video and led to two nights of unrest in the city between Milwaukee and Chicago.

The father, who is also named Jacob Blake and who was driving from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Kenosha to be with his son, told the newspaper that he learned Sunday night that officers had shot his son eight times and that he saw the video of it online a few minutes later.

He said his son now has "eight holes" in his body, and is paralyzed from the waist down, though doctors don't know if the paralysis will be permanent.
