New York Magazine (2016) This is New York in the not-so-distant future

http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2016/09/new-york-future-flooding-climate-change.html

Even locals who believe climate change is real have a hard time grasping that their city will almost certainly be flooded beyond recognition.

Klaus Jacob, a German professor affiliated with Columbia’s University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, is a geophysicist by profession and a doomsayer by disposition. I’ve gotten to know him over the past few years, as I’ve sought to understand the greatest threat to life in New York as we know it. Jacob has a white beard and a ponderous accent: Imagine if Werner Herzog happened to be a renowned expert on disaster risk. Jacob believes most people live in an irrational state of “risk denial,” and he takes delight in dispelling their blissful ignorance. “If you want to survive an earthquake, don’t buy a brownstone,” he once cautioned me, citing the catastrophic potential of a long-dormant fault line that runs under the city. When Mayor Bloomberg announced nine years ago an initiative to plant a million trees, Jacob thought, That’s nice — but what about tornadoes?

For the past 15 years or so, Jacob has been primarily preoccupied with a more existential danger: the rising sea. The latest scientific findings suggest that a child born today in this island metropolis may live to see the waters around it swell by six feet, as the previously hypothetical consequences of global warming take on an escalating — and unstoppable — force. “I have made it my mission,” Jacob says, “to think long term.” The life span of a city is measured in centuries, and New York, which is approaching its fifth, probably doesn’t have another five to go, at least in any presently recognizable form. Instead, Jacob has said, the city will become a “gradual Atlantis.”

President Donald Trump is set to officially announce he’s seeking re-election in 2020 at a rally on June 18 in Orlando at the Amway Center.

In one of Trump’s most recent tweets Wednesday morning, the president claims this event will be “the hottest of them all” with 74,000 ticket requests made for the event already.

I don't think I'm the right demographic for this kind of offer I just got from "Jets.Com."

Dear Friends, Fliers & Prospective Fliers:

When making a decision on who to turn to for your private flight needs it is very easy to be fooled by the glitz & glamour of some of our competitors.

A simple side-by-side comparison of Jets .Com vs Wheels-Up will show you exactly why so many fliers are choosing Jets .Com as their Citation Excel provider.

Wheels-Up.JPG

* Wheels-Up Membership fee of $29,500 first year and $14,500 per year after first year (Corporate Account)

** Wheels-Up Membership fee of $17,500 first year and $8,500 per year after first year (Personal Account)

*** Wheels-Up has no expiration date on hours purchased but you will pay a yearly membership fee if hours go past year 1

As you can see, not only are we over 20% less per hour for the same exact aircraft but we also do not charge any ridiculous and unnecessary fees for membership.

Membership fees that will get you invited to a party, or let you shake hands with a celebrity or pro athlete or will pay for a commercial on CNBC …. meanwhile the smart money has realized that in the first year alone you would get 12 extra hours of flying with Jets .Com for what you would pay Wheels-Up with their high hourly rate and that membership fee.

Please feel free to contact me via email or phone with any questions that you may have or to secure your JetCard hours.

The BBC: Donald Trump: US President in 'Prince of Whales' Twitter error

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-wales-48622001

US President Donald Trump has caused a splash on Twitter after he tweeted to say he had met the "Prince of Whales".

Mr Trump made the mistake, intending to refer to Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, in response to articles following an ABC news interview.

He said he would listen if a foreign government gave damaging information about a political rival without necessarily reporting it to the FBI.

In the tweet, he accused media reporting the statement of "fake news".

M. Nance, The President of the United States may have committed treason

#IMPEACHTRUMPNOW TRENDS ON TWITTER: AMERICANS SAY PRESIDENT COMMITTED 'TREASON' BY SAYING HE WOULD TAKE FOREIGN INFORMATION ON 2020 RIVALS

https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-2020-election-foreign-intel-treason-1443762

Twitter was alight on Thursday morning with calls to "impeach Trump now." Americans were accusing President Donald Trump of treason after saying in a television interview that he would be willing to take foreign information on a rival in the upcoming 2020 election.

"TREASON," Dena Grayson, a former Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress, wrote in a tweet sharing a clip of the interview.

"This is treason in broad daylight," another social media user added, before calling on Democrats Senator Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to "do your job" and "#ImpeachTrumpNow."

Despite facing widespread calls from Democrats to start impeachment proceedings against Trump, Pelosi said on Tuesday that the push to launch the process is "not even close" to having enough support in the House.

Nancy P. now is the time. End of story. Trump all but admitted that he took Russian help in 2016.

The Mueller report clearly identified collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia / 272 Contacts

TRUMP’S RUSSIA COVER-UP BY THE NUMBERS – 272 CONTACTS WITH RUSSIA-LINKED OPERATIVES

Instead, the Trump team tried to cover up every single one of them.

https://themoscowproject.org/explainers/trumps-russia-cover-up-by-the-numbers-70-contacts-with-russia-linked-operatives/

Last Updated June 3, 2019

On April 18, 2019, a redacted copy of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s “Report On The Investigation Into Russian Interference In The 2016 Presidential Election” (Mueller Report) was released to the public. The Mueller report builds on the U.S. intelligence community’s conclusion that there were two campaigns to elect Donald Trump— one run by Trump and one run by the Russian government. The Mueller report clearly identified collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, despite repeated denials from Trump and many of his senior advisers and close associates that there were any connections between the two campaigns.

A total of 272 contacts between Trump’s team and Russia-linked operatives have been identified, including at least 38 meetings. And we know that at least 33 high-ranking campaign officials and Trump advisers were aware of contacts with Russia-linked operatives during the campaign and transition, including Trump himself. None of these contacts were ever reported to the proper authorities. Instead, the Trump team tried to cover up every single one of them.

Beyond the many lies the Trump team told to the American people, Mueller himself repeatedly remarked on how far the Trump team was willing to go to hide their Russian contacts, stating, “the investigation established that several individuals affiliated with the Trump Campaign lied to the Office, and to Congress, about their interactions with Russian-affiliated individuals and related matters. Those lies materially impaired the investigation of Russian election interference.”

*******

When is enough, enough? Impeach his ass already and if the republican senators want to still
stand with that treasonous bastard let 'em.

On voicemail, Trump's lawyer asks Michael Flynn's attorney for a 'heads up'

Now is this fake news?

"Hey, Rob, uhm, this is John again," the Nov. 22, 2017 voicemail recording starts out, as Trump's lawyer, John Dowd, requests Flynn's attorney, Rob Kelner, for a "heads up" about the nature of Flynn's cooperation, a move that special counsel Robert Mueller's team has described as a "potential" effort to hinder the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

"If, on the other hand, we have, there's information that. .. implicates the President, then we've got a national security issue, or maybe a national security issue, I don't know ... some issue, we got to-we got to deal with, not only for the President, but for the country," Dowd tells Kelner in the voicemail. "So ... uh ... you know, then-then, you know, we need some kind of heads up. Um, just for the sake of ... protecting all our interests, if we can, without you having to give up any ... confidential information."
