Chicago mayor says Abbott causing 'chaos' by sending migrant buses
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) said Sunday that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) was sowing “seeds of chaos” by sending buses of migrants to Chicago without prior warning and called for greater coordination between state and local officials.
In an interview on CBS News’s “Face the Nation,” Johnson confirmed the city of Chicago had seen the arrival of several buses of migrants in the past several nights — and that yesterday, the City had even received an unexpected flight arriving in the city.
“The governor of Texas, Governor Abbott, is determined to continue to sow seeds of chaos. And last night, and several nights before, a number of buses continued to arrive in the city of Chicago, throughout the country without any coordination,” Johnson said. “And now he’s taken on this very dangerous task of placing individuals on airplanes and flying them into our various cities.”
“This is certainly a matter of, not just of our national security, but it’s the type of chaos that this governor is committed to administering,” Johnson added.

After his arrest, DePape, 43, allegedly told a San Francisco detective that he wanted to hold Nancy Pelosi hostage. He said that if she told him the truth, he would let her go and if she lied, he was going to “break her kneecaps” to show other members of Congress there were “consequences to actions,” according to prosecutors.
DePape, who lived in a garage in the Bay Area city of Richmond and had been doing odd carpentry jobs to support himself, allegedly told authorities he had other targets, including a women’s and queer studies professor, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, actor Tom Hanks and President Joe Biden’s son Hunter.
The professor, who is also expected to testify next week, was DePape’s main target and DePape went to the Pelosis’ home to have Nancy Pelosi “lure her out,” Linker said.
San Francisco Police Acting Lt. O’Connor, who helped process the crime scene, testified she collected a sleeping bag and two backpacks from the Pelosis’ patio that DePape allegedly brought with him. GOP Rep. Zinke proposes bill to ban Palestinians from entering US
Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-Mont.) introduced a bill Thursday that could ban Palestinians from entering the U.S. and possibly expel those who are already here.
Zinke, who served as secretary of the Interior Department under former President Trump, introduced legislation called the Safeguarding Americans from Extremism Act.
The legislation would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to halt granting visas, asylum and refuge for people who have a Palestinian Authority-issued passport. The bill would revoke the entrance or visa for individuals who came to the U.S. after Oct.
“This legislation keeps America safe,” Zinke said. “I don’t trust the Biden Administration any more than I do the Palestinian Authority to screen who is allowed to come into the United States. This is the most anti-Hamas immigration legislation I have seen and it’s well deserved. Given the circumstances, the threats to our immigration system and the history of terrorists abusing refugee, asylum and visa processes all over the world, the requirements in this bill are necessary to keep Americans safe. This bill does exactly that.”

Another day, another right wing terrorist.
When are we going to wake up and realize that the right wing propaganda is the problem? You can make all the connections you want about guns and the people who purchase them. But one thing that all of the recent mass shooters have in common that isn't nearly being talked about enough. The killers were all radicalized by ultra radical hate propaganda. And it comes in many forms - Fox News, Infowars, AM radio, Sinclair Broadcasting, Joe Rogan, Twitter, Ben Shapiro, TPUSA, the list goes on and on and on.
And before you say "Oh we have to address left wing propaganda too!!", shut the fuck up. There is no left wing equivalent to Infowars or Fox News. The right wing has thousands of programs to choose from, and you can get them almost tailor made to your preferred level of racism that you're willing to tolerate. We don't have anything like that. And right wing shows, despite that there's thousands of them - ALL SELL THE SAME PRODUCT. You could seriously interchange one host from the other and it wouldn't make much of a difference. There's an economic term for that, it's called a "perfectly competitive industry".
The Maine shooter is just another victim of what happens when one falls down the right wing conspiracy theory talk show wormhole. Just like the Uvalde shooter. Or the Illinois shooter. Or Kyle Rittenhouse. Or Ashlii Babbitt, who the right wing is trying to make a martyr out of. This shit does serious damage to people's mental health. If we are going to make serious progress on the gun issue, we have to address the danger and damage that too much right wing extremist propaganda is doing to people. None of it is good. And it's not good for people and it's not good for America.The talk shows are holding this country hostage in favor of talking points.
Sean Hannity, Alex Jones, Steve Bannon, Ben Shapiro, Joe Rogan, Donald Trump Jr, and the like make money off of scrambling people's brains and turning them into mush. They do it every single night too. And it's inspiring people to do some absolutely horrible things. Like what's happening in Maine. And if we don't address it seriously, it will happen again. And again and again and again. The talk shows sell you the problem using fear porn - too many criminals, bad things happening, etc and then they sell you the solution - buy a gun. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's stochastic terrorism. It's the cycle of death and it screws us all.

Texas sends 15th bus of asylum seekers to Los Angeles. It's the second in four days
A group of 45 migrants who reached Los Angeles Friday morning are the second to arrive by bus from Texas in four days.
Mayor Karen Bass’ office confirmed that the group of asylum seekers marks the 15th to arrive in L.A. since the first bus arrived in June.
The bus that arrived Friday pulled into Union Station shortly after 9:30 a.m. after leaving Texas around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, according to L.A. Welcomes Collective, a group of immigration advocates, faith-based organizers and city and county officials. The group of asylum seekers, which includes 13 families and 23 children, traveled from Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.
On Tuesday, 40 asylum seekers from Venezuela and El Salvador arrived in Union Station, the L.A. Welcomes Collective said.

Megachurch Pastor Jack Hibbs Launches Nationwide Campaign to Out LGBTQ Students
California Republicans recently introduced a bill that would require school districts to notify parents within three days of learning that a student is “identifying at school as a gender that does not align with the child’s sex on their birth certificate, other official records, or sex assigned at birth.” LGBTQ activists say that Assembly Bill 1314 would put transgender students at risk, but radical right-wing California pastor Jack Hibbs hopes to spread the requirement to school districts around the nation.
Hibbs—who just last month declared that he was “embarrassed” that he and other pastors are not being attacked for standing against “LBGTQ transgender lunacy” while “kids are being raped by the public school system”—posted an “urgent call to action” on social media Monday in which he announced that he’s launching a campaign to push back against the “demonic and dark satanic powers” that are supposedly “sexualizing” and “mentally abusing” public school students.
“We are launching right now a campaign to equip and mobilize every citizen to petition—every parent, every grandparent—to petition their local school board, no matter where they live … and demand that your school board adopt the language of AB-1314,” Hibbs said. “We are going to be instructing you shortly on how to do this in your town, requiring your school board to adopt AB-1314 verbiage. … I want parents to know that the school has to notify the parents before they do anything with your child that’s secretive regarding their health, their sexual questioning, whatever. Parents are to be notified.”
He went on to warn that the belief that this nation is a “democracy” is dangerous.
