For those who are still questioning the police suicides related to 1/6

I would ask you to read this from the USA Today. Howie’s wife has some valid points. His death was caused by the insurrection and its aftermath. His death may not have been at the Capitol, but it was caused by his work that day and the immediate days after.

He had a good life, beautiful wife and a lot to look forward to. There was a lot of trauma that day. A lot of trauma

I just see selfish people.

After a long week of work, I went to Wegmans today to get food, prescriptions and a couple bottles of wine. I am in Northern Virginia and the great majority of rhe people were masked. Some N-95, Some KN-95, some surgical, some athletic, some designer, some old school cloth but most people are doing something to protect themselves and others.

And then there were the others, no masks, carts overflowing not giving two shits about protecting others, themselves or their families. I don’t know this for a fact, but I look at them and see the fake Christian preppies who could care less about their brothers and sisters and even less for the least among us.

It is simple, they are selfish fucktards. We tend to overcomplicate things, they are selfish fucktards.

Shaken by the Jan. 6 attack, Capitol workers quit jobs that once made them proud

This article is behind the Posts paywall but a very powerful read.

The trauma suffered by thousands of legislative aides, police officers and blue-collar workers after the insurrection has prompted some to leave the Capitol

….. Death threats continued to arrive daily by phone from constituents who were convinced that Democrats had stolen the election. “It absolutely broke me to know that people would be fine if my boss was dead, if I was dead, if my co-workers were dead,” she said. “The American people stopped believing in the institution. And if they don’t believe in it, what the hell are any of us doing working for it……:

….. A month after the insurrection, Richards returned to the Capitol and walked with Scanlon through Statuary Hall, a setting that typically inspired in her a sense of awe. Instead, she could not help but think about the insurrectionists who had been there, an association she compared to the “stench” of a house fire that takes “forever to get out.”
“It felt like something bad had happened, and I didn’t want to be there anymore,” she sai…..
