Source: The Hill
he U.S. Capitol Police said it arrested a group of pro-Palestinian protestors who occupied the Cannon Rotunda on Tuesday, a day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to deliver an address to Congress. We are arresting a group that is illegally demonstrating inside the Cannon Rotunda. Demonstrations are not allowed inside the Congressional Buildings, the Capitol Police said in a post on the social platform X Tuesday afternoon............
Rep. Dan Kildees chief of staff, Mitchell Rivard, said in a statement that the Michigan Democrats office called U.S. Capitol Police for assistance due to large demonstrations in the office building.
Hundreds of protesters outside the office became disruptive, violently beating on the office doors, shouting loudly, and attempting to force entry into the office, Rivard said in the statement.

This does not help. it has bad idea written all over it. Plays right into the GOP Law and Order play book. The comparisons to 1/6 will start in 5,4,3,2,1..........
We are better than this
Does anyone remember the name Heather Heyer, she woke up one morning went to counter protest a bunch of Nazis and was killed. There was outrage here.
Yesterday, three people went to a political rally, one of them was shot to death and the other two were shot. There were jokes here, there was bullshit theory based on nothing here.
Political violence is never right, full stop. We are supposed to be an evolved democracy showing others how to grow into their democracies. We are failing.
This group has been very important to me for a long time, over 20 year, it helped me heal after 1/6, gave me a place to vent, to learn, to keep up with current events and fast moving stories.
The last 15 hours, we have failed. We have to get better. In the aftermath of 1/6, I wished Ill on a lot of people. I still hope they are brought to Justice and sometimes was a little enthusiastic when they were brought to Justice.
Yesterday, someone tried to assassinate a former President of the United States, in the process one bystander was killed and we are making jokes, coming up with nonsense theories based on nothing. People, we must be better than this.
I am not saying people should not be talking about this but they should be factual, they should be compassionate, they should understand the gravity of the situation.
It amazes me, but a mere 248 years almost to the day for the American Experiment to fail
It was a great run, thankfully I was alive for some of it but my children and grandchildren will grow up in a radically different America. I now agree with Marjorie Taylor Greene. Split the country. Let democracy live on in Half the country.
Tim Scott
Just a guess, but, Senator Tim Scott endorsed Trump over the home state girl, Nikki Haley, asked his make pretend girlfriend to marry him, has back pedaled on his views on 1/6, and Trump says his VP will be someone we know. My prediction, Scott will be Trumps VP.
1/6, Please keep the Family of slain US Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick's family
In your thoughts today. Brians life was taken in the fight to save democracy on 1/6. He was attacked many times physically and with chemicals. These attacks were caught on video. Brian is a hero who gave his life to protect Democracy. Please keep his family in your thoughts as we remember the sacrifices of 1/6. Brian made the ultimate sacrifice.
Who is taking Ayman place on MSNBC
I know it is a slow news weekend, new years but I dont ever recall seeing the woman filling in on MSNBc
DFW, how was the Cape.
We were there for the week in August with all the Rain. But still, a bad week at the cape beats a good week at work.
Oh my god yes!
The dress code is easer for men, as many things are coat, tie, shirt with collar to hold tie, pants, shoes, socks. Women, suits, dresses, shirts, they should be held to similar standards, I totally agree. And I love the as usual stipulation, Senators can show up looking like shitbumbs, but the staff must still be appropriately attired.
