Here's a thought, Republicans ...

It has become increasingly apparent that you are using every means possible to keep certain people from voting - i.e. those likely to vote (D) - gerrymandering, claiming that voter fraud is rampant and stricter voting laws need to be implemented, et cetera.

Obviously, you can't simply rely on allowing every eligible voter to cast a ballot - because you've already determined that when everyone votes, you can't win.

So here's a thought. Maybe if your party offered people something worth voting for, you wouldn't have to go through all these machinations in order to win elections.

Maybe if your in-office politicians actually did their jobs by improving the lives of their constituents, they wouldn't have to spend all their time trying to convince them that voting against their best interests is doing their job.

Maybe if your party's representatives actually voted for the things their constituents care about - like policies that would lower gas prices, get baby formula back on the shelves, lower the cost of prescription drugs - instead of voting against them, they could run on their record of achievements instead of blaming Democrats for their own abysmal failures.

Maybe if you stopped being lying, corrupt hypocrites, you wouldn't have to put so much effort into fear-mongering about Americans being "replaced" by caravans of brown-skinned, drug-smuggling rapists who are pouring into the country via an alleged "open border" that doesn't exist.

Maybe - just maybe - if your party addressed real problems like the need for sensible gun-control legislation, rising violence and hate crimes, unfair tax laws that put tax burdens on the middle-class instead of the wealthy, greedy corporations increasing their profits while blaming rising prices on inflation, AND the complete annihilation of women's rights - you wouldn't have to wage war on Disney, Sesame Street, and sexy M&Ms.

Maybe if you put as much effort into actually representing The People as you do banning books, telling women that carrying their rapist's baby is a blessing, and pretending to be "good Christians", you wouldn't have to grovel for votes from an ever-shrinking base of the woefully stupid, the permanently gullible, and the perpetually misinformed.

So you see, there ARE ways to "broaden your base" - but you have instead chosen to narrow the base of voters eligible to vote.

That's not the sign of a party with a winning agenda that appeals to voters across the board - it is a sign of the complete desperation of a party that has nothing to offer - and knows it.

Heads-Up, Republicans

You can rant on about your Great Replacement Theory all you want.

But we have something better than a totally nonsensical theory spouted by spineless sycophants - we have a plan.

The plan is to use our votes, our voices, and our determination to replace every corrupt, lying, traitor currently in office with people of honour and integrity.

We plan to use every resource at our disposal to replace Jewish-Laser-promoting whack-jobs with people of intelligence - and treasonous insurrectionists with people who uphold their oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution.

We plan to replace representatives who spew self-serving bullshit with people who actually represent the best interests of their constituents - along with replacing so-called "Christian" bigots, racists, and homophobes with people who actually demonstrate real Christian principles - the ones that Christ himself espoused.

We plan to replace anti-science, anti-education, book-burning idiots with people who believe that a well-educated, well-informed voter is a plus-not-a-minus in a democracy.

We plan to replace those who encourage violence with people who understand that dead school children and dead grocery shoppers are not a means to an end, but a symptom of a widespread political disease.

Fear not, Republicans - it's not like you're completely out of the game. At this point, we Democrats don't really care if politicians have an (R) behind their name - as long as they're intelligent enough, honest enough, and patriotic enough to understand that putting America first and putting Trump first are simply incompatible idealogies.

So if your party still has anyone to run for office that doesn't have his/her head up Trump's ass, we're more than happy to hear from them.

Republicans keep talking about revenge should they regain power. Democrats don't DO revenge, they DO justice. And thanks to the January 6th Committee hearings, justice is about to be served.

Stage one of the replacement plan is exposing those who plotted to overthrow our democracy. Stage two will be replacing them - and once their crimes against the nation are exposed, that plan will be that much easier to execute.

Republicans Have No Socially Redeeming Value

Simply put:

Republicans support hatred, embrace racism, and encourage violence.

They have hijacked Christianity and turned it into a belief system that condemns tolerance and acceptance; they have replaced the teachings of Christ with the ideology of bigots and hatemongers.

They claim to love their country as they promote divisiveness among their fellow citizens; they claim to be patriots as they storm the Capitol in an attempt to destroy democracy, defy the law, and defile the Constitution.

They have no empathy, no sympathy, no compassion for anyone less fortunate than themselves. They are devoid of a conscience when they vilify others, yet they portray themselves as victims when they are vilified for their own statements and actions.

They contribute nothing of value to society other than everything that is abhorrent, selfish, and detrimental to society as a whole. They ignore facts in order to cling to insane conspiracy theories; they elect representatives who only represent insane conspiracy theories instead of facts and reality.

They claim to be champions of the rights of all Americans - unless those Americans are non-white, non-Christian, or female. They claim to be protectors of life, while supporting lax gun control laws. They claim to be pro-life, while voting down measures that feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and care for the sick and dying.

Let me say it again. Republicans have no socially redeeming value.

They are a party comprised of gullible, ill-informed, easily-manipulated idiots whose hypocrisy is only surpassed by their own stupidity.

Prove me wrong.

Above the Law?

We've all been appalled by the idea that a "pResident" and his enablers can be seen as being "above the law" by not being held accountable for their crimes.

But we are now faced with something even more egregious - members of the Supreme Court holding themselves out to be "above the People".

The vast majority of US citizens support Roe v Wade being the law of the land. So by what authority does any SCOTUS justice decide that what The People clearly want can be ignored, dismissed as irrelevant, and ultimately overturned by five people who sit on that court?

What purpose is served by the highest court in the land when that court fails to represent the will of The People it is meant to serve, when that court decides that its own will takes precedence over the demonstrable will of the majority of the nation?

Up until now, I thought that Trump and his cohorts being perceived/treated as being "above the law" was the most outrageous assault on democracy imaginable.

But the SCOTUS has now surpassed that outrage. When five justices are permitted to replace the will of We, The People with their own will, it's time for all citizens to acknowledge that the Supreme Court is no longer a credible institution reflective of democracy. It is now just another collection of people who hold themselves out to be above the law they were allegedly appointed to preserve and protect.

"Everything Trump touches DIES"

When Rick Wilson stated that "everything Trump touches dies", it wasn't just a statement of fact, it was a warning - a warning that many Republicans probably regret not heeding when they had the chance.

There was a time - not so long ago, and not so far away - when the politicians and GOP operatives who got on-board with attempting to overthrow the 2020 election and install Trump in the WH for a second term were confident that they would successfully do so.

Less than eighteen months ago, these people were picturing themselves living in May 2022 as having been richly rewarded for their loyalty to Trump, their political careers advanced as a result thereof, enjoying being rising stars in the GOP universe.

And where are they now? They're dealing with subpoenas that render them damned if they do and damned if they don't. They are in legal jeopardy, they may face federal charges. They are being exposed as willing participants in overthrowing our democracy - a far cry from their vision of lounging on a beach sipping Margaritas, high-fiving each other while celebrating their coup.

"Everything Trump touches dies" - and that statement has never been more ominous a warning than it is right now.

All that remains to be seen is just how loyal Trump-humpers in the GOP are when they have to choose between saving their own asses and saving the Orange Anus they were too stupid to recognize as their ultimate death warrant.

There is nothing more pitiful than a political party that envisioned itself as invincible realizing that the illusion of invincibility was just part of the Great Grift, masterminded by a con-artist who knew exactly what depths they'd be willing to sink to in order to betray their country for the honour of kissing his ass.

Why would Trump ...

... want back on Twitter when Truth Social (or Troth Censhul, as he recently called it) is so wildly successful?

Looks like Devin Nunes is about to be thrown under the Trump bus for fucking-up what was poised to be the greatest social media platform evah.

Excuse me while I savour this moment ...

If You Don't Stand Up For Us ...

... we won't stand up for you.

Any politician who is unwilling to stand up for a woman's right to have autonomy over her own body is going to pay a price - and it's going to be a very high price indeed.

Women will not vote for you, they will not donate to your campaigns, they will not support anything that furthers your political ambitions.

Women will not be silent about your treachery against them. They will raise their voices at every opportunity, and their voices will drown out your own every time you attempt to portray yourself as anything other than what you are - a spineless misogynist who lives in abject fear of the female sex.

And make no mistake - we women are not alone. The majority of the populace supports a woman's right to choose - and that majority is comprised not only of women, but our husbands, our fathers, our brothers, our male neighbours and friends, our fellow citizens who believe that forcing any woman to give birth against her will is beyond abhorrent.

You are never going to live down the fact that you chose to stand against women rather than stand up for them.

You are never going to escape the fact that you chose to stand with the party whose SCOTUS picks took rights away from millions of American women.

You are never going to win back the votes of those millions of women - or the votes of the men who support them.

I, for one, welcome the battle - because there's nothing more satisfying than knowing that "the other side" of the war is already known to be the losing side.

A Party That Claims ...

A party that claims to want to protect babies doesn't insist that they be born to parents who do not have the financial or emotional means necessary to care for them.

A party that claims to support family values does not force families to raise more children than they can afford to feed, clothe, and educate.

A party that claims to be a champion of children does not cut food stamps or school lunch programs that sustain those children.

A party that claims that the lives of children are precious does not support legislation that puts lethal weapons in the hands of deranged school shooters.

A party that claims that children should be protected does not insist that a child who has been raped should have to give birth to her rapist's child.

A party that claims to have the best interests of children at heart does not try to do away with early education or affordable daycare.

A party that claims to be focused on children, but does everything in its power to ensure that children go hungry, uneducated, and are raised in poverty, is a party that is depraved, immoral, and beyond redemption.

At this point, any parent who supports the GOP is demonstrating their willingness to sacrifice the nation's children - including their own - on the altar of political power being given to those who seek to destroy the children they claim to protect.

The Republican party: Come for the blatant hypocrisy - Stay for the blatant hypocrisy in action.

You Are HERE, Republicans ...

... and I can't imagine a worse place to be.

Your party members are being exposed as liars and hypocrites who publicly supported Trump, while privately acknowledging his responsibility for inciting an insurrection, along with the fact that he was unfit for office.

We now know that Trump - "Let's attack Mexico and just pretend it wasn't us" - was even more unhinged than previously known, and that the Republican party continued to support him in the face of that knowledge.

We've all seen Trump's rallies getting smaller, as he continues to rant about impossible-to-flush toilets - while endorsing political candidates his own supporters hate.

The January 6 Committee is about to make their findings public, and many of your colleagues are about to be exposed as willing participants in an attempt to overthrow the US government.

Not all Republican voters are Trump-humpers, and some of them (dare I say many of them) will not take kindly to having their democracy threatened by liars-and-hypocrites (please see above) whose only interest was retaining their own power - American democracy be damned.

And then there's this: The GOP's hand-picked SCOTUS justices are about to overturn Roe v Wade, a decision that the majority of the populace want left in place. And the fact that the "justices" who are voting in favour of doing so all perjured themselves during their confirmation hearings is as blatantly obvious to R voters as it is to D voters.

While the Republicans rail against "the leak" rather than the issue at hand - the taking away of a woman's dominion over her own body - it is apparent that real issues are of no interest to the GOP.

Soundbytes only go so far. Eventually reality rears it's ugly head - and reality is about to kick the butts of Republicans who mistakenly believe that their own constituents are too stupid to recognize that the rights of their wives, their daughters, and the victims of rape and incest should be sacrificed on the altar of the party of madmen.

You are HERE, Republicans - that place where human decency ends, that place where your only hope of retaining power is convincing the idiots who still support you that idiocy equals patriotism.

Good luck with that.
