Studies suggest that religious dogma can override our natural tendency toward empathy. That's right people who are the most religious have the least empathy to their fellow man. My assumption is that they are literally gleeful because they are equating bad fortune with god's punishment. Says something about exactly how much religion has failed.

strangely similar to mitts not risking any of his own money in the Bain adventures, he eviscerated the company's to pay for Bain's dance.
