Former Marco Rubio Intern Arrested for Storming the Capitol on Jan. 6

Source: Yahoo News

A 23-year-old former Marco Rubio intern has been arrested in connection with her actions on Jan. 6. Barbara "Barby" Balmaseda was officially charged with corrupt obstruction of an official proceeding, knowingly entering and remaining in a restricted building and engaging in disorderly conduct in a Capitol building with the intent to impede a session of Congress. She is a former Florida International University student who interned for Marco Rubio between 2018 and 2019, and was also an organizer for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ 2018 campaign. “When Balmaseda entered the building, broken glass was scattered on the ground, and an alarm blared near the doorway,” the DOJ said in a complaint. “After entering the Capitol, Balmaseda made her way toward the Crypt and pushed her way to the front of a crowd of rioters who were confronting a police line.”

Help me! I'm stupid!

Please help me. I’m really stupid. The election is coming and I don’t know whether to vote for the guy who is going on trial for trying to conduct a coup against the U.S. or the guy who lowered the cost of pharmaceuticals for medicare patients. I’m just really stupid. I don’t know.

I’m super stupid. I might vote for the guy who suggested taking bleach might help fight COVID or the guy who expanded NATO and restored faith in American leadership among our allies. I’m stupid. I just don’t know.

I’m stupid in every sense of the word. Should I vote for the guy who said he was going to pass an infrastructure bill and never did in four years or the guy who passed a bipartisan infrastructure bill in under a year. You wouldn’t believe how stupid I am.

I don’t have words for how stupid I am. I don’t know if I should vote for the guy who’s been called “dumb” or a “moron” by numerous former staffers or the guy who passed the first gun safety legislation in 30 years. I’m stupid like the sun is hot.

It’s all so confusing. Or should I vote for Jill Stein? I’m stupid.

Inmate stabbed Derek Chauvin 22 times, charged with attempted murder, prosecutors say

Source: Associated Press

A federal inmate was charged Friday with attempted murder in the prison stabbing of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd.

John Turscak stabbed Chauvin 22 times in the law library at the Federal Correctional Institution in Tucson, Arizona, with an improvised knife, federal prosecutors said. Turscak, 52, told correctional officers he would’ve killed Chauvin had they not responded so quickly, prosecutors said.

Senate GOP stages hearing walkout to protest Supreme Court-related subpoenas

Source: The Hill

Tempers exploded at a Senate Judiciary Committee meeting Thursday before Democrats voted to subpoena a major conservative donor and a prominent conservative activist linked to the Supreme Court’s ethics scandals.

The Republican members of the committee stormed out of the hearing room in the Hart Building shortly before Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) called a vote on authorizing the subpoenas.

The meeting came after weeks of partisan fighting among members of the Judiciary Committee over plans to subpoena conservative donor Harlan Crow and activist Leonard Leo, the co-chairman of the Federalist Society, in response to reporting by ProPublica that revealed the two men played roles in taking conservative Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito on luxury vacations.

Youth and the 2024 Election

For those who like to pore over early polls, this one from Tufts was just released yesterday (11/29/23). It serves as a counter to a theme from a week ago with "a number of polls" showing young voters "turning on Biden" (NBC).

This Tufts poll shows a +21 advantage for Democratic candidates over maga. Amazingly, it doesn't even cite reproductive rights as key issue. Wait until Democrats campaign on it.

BREAKING: Republicans buy most expensive turkeys so they can blame inflation

Lois Mukstain walked into the Piggly Wiggly sporting a T-shirt emblazoned with a bald eagle wearing a red maga cap. She bee lined to the large open freezer in the poultry section and began sighing with disappointment at the reasonable prices for the turkeys within. "This is ridiculous" she muttered throwing around rock solid birds, some subsequently ending up on the floor. She was not interested in what specials were available with her Pig Points. She wanted the most expensive turkey she could find.

Her disruption gained the attention of the on-duty butcher who came from behind the counter to assist her.

"I want the most aspensive [sic] turkey" Muckstain bleated.

The confused butcher told her the most expensive turkey would be the largest while picking turkeys up off the floor and trying to avoid nips from Muckstain's vicious Chihuahua mix. Muckstain shook her head in disapproval and expounded on her demand.

"You got one for like six bucks a pound?"

Still perplexed, the butcher guided her to a small section of specialty fowl while choosing not to inform Muckstain of the store's no animals and no smoking policies.

"These are where you'll find our most expensive turkeys" the butcher offered making sure Muckstain needed no more assistance.

Muckstain perused the items, mumbling under her breath that she should have gone to Whole Foods. After deciding on a 19-pound Covington Estate bird Muckstain hollered loud enough for everyone to hear "Seventy-two dollars for a gahdamn turkey?"

On the way out she berated the register associate who informed her there were less expensive turkeys in stock.

"You'd like that, wouldn't you Joe Biden" she shot back.

On the way to her car Muckstain crossed paths with a shopper in a T-shirt featuring a bald eagle clasping a helpless donkey in its talons.

"Turkeys in there are $70. It's ridiculous!"

"Just paid $80 at Winn-Dixie" he responded. "Bidenomics, kiss my ass."

BREAKING: Jack Smith wants cases tried before Trump hits puberty

Special Council Jack Smith requested expedited trial dates in the federal cases involving Donald Trump in filings made on Monday. In those filings Smith cited the expectation of Trump's behavior to worsen as he enters puberty. As it is, the former president has made a habit of disobeying orders, spending too much time on the phone, and even stealing. While few are willing to pinpoint the exact stage of mental development Trump is currently in, based on language skills and temperament, most experts agree that he comports himself with the demeanor of a four to nine-year old.
